Asaderos Grill — Restaurant in Mexico City

Visiting the Polanco neighborhood of Mexico City and went for dinner with family. When I ordered a margarita I told them I wanted the classic one because I did not like mezcal. Ordered the rib eye tacos that came with refried beans on the corn tortilla. When my food came I got watered down beans that tasted of smoky mezcal. The steak was not tender. In the little cup of grilled onions on the side there was a white blob that looked like snot or was it raw fat, I don’t know but I stopped eating it. The two others at the table had steak tacos and the meat was very tough too and had to spit out some of the pieces. They cleared plates way too quickly as I still had one bite and they took away my plate and I had to stuff the last bite in my mouth. I don’t want to say anything too negative because the staff is excellent and I know it’s not their fault. The issue I have is with the quality of the meat only. I’ve been here 3 times in the past 2 months and while some of the side dishes are pretty good, the quality of the meat is really bad. I’m not picky and I eat street food daily, so I pretty much like everything. The first time I went we ordered the USDA Prime Rib Eye steaks and I can say for sure it was not USDA. None of us could really eat them and the tasted sort of strange and didn’t look right, even before we tried them. Next time we ate Angus Prime burgers and they were honestly not even edible.
