Teikit — Restaurant in Mexico City

Disgusting sushi, horrendous service, a place to avoid at all costs. Finding a pet-friendly sushi place in Polanco was a bit of a challenge, but we ended up at Teikit. The first impression was mediocre at best. We were seated on the top floor, and it took ages just to get menus and place our order. Our server had an indifferent attitude from the start.

When our drinks arrived, my can of ginger ale was dirty. I flagged down a server, but their reaction was far from reassuring. Then came the sushi, and it was downright awful.As for the sushi, it was dreadful. I ordered a shrimp roll, which was fried, but every bite contained shell—absolutely disgusting. Thinking it was just one bad piece, I tried another only to encounter the same issue.

To make matters worse, our server was nowhere to be found, so I gave up on even trying to fix the situation. When the bill arrived, I mentioned my experience to the server, but he barely acknowledged it. He just said he’d mention it to the cook with no apology or empathy. To top it off, he had the audacity to ask for our feedback on a tablet that posts to Google.

This place clearly doesn’t care about its customers. The food was miserable, and the service was worse. I would absolutely stay away from this...

Spent around 10 min trying to open the virtual menu. For some reason they do not have updated prices on the physical menus. When able to see the menu (on their web page) noticed a nice variety of dishes and opted for a sushi bowl, which had a nice picture for a promoted Tuna bowl. Plate came smaller in size and with limited quantity for each item offered (including the tuna). Incredibly, the prices for beverages(for all included in the menu) were near to $50 pesos or above. I finished my meal quite quickly without having any sip of my drink. I thought of cancelling (due to the high price anyway) but the waiter mentioned to me that this was not possible. I asked why not, and he replied that since it was already in the system, they cannot cancel it (silly argument). Quality of food it is good and fresh. The seating outside on the balcony is alright. Food is really really good! Both sushi and ramen are amazing and that's the only reason I give this place 3 stars is because of the food. Service is horrible, it takes so long for every part; order taking, food and beverage service, waiters noticing if you need something. Also saké is always served differently and is a RIP-off. They only put a quarter of the small pitcher (=3 saké glasses) and charge you full price. I suggest that you only order take-away and order it way in advance, don't expect to have your food at the time you want it and don't order saké here, there are many other cheaper and faster...
