Costillas el sitio — Restaurant in Mexico City

Though I haven’t awarded five stars to this place, it is highly recommended, nonetheless. This strikes me as the Mexican equivalent of a classic big city diner in the US, so busy that it’s lunch special is referred to as a “corrida”, served and eaten on the run, with the next customer literally running into the place to grab your seat as you stand up to leave. A terrific experience with very good, simple food. Just don’t expect anyone to to “hold your hand” while taking your order. We learned only after the fact that they’re actually known for their carne asado. It’s what I had my eye on but misunderstood the ordering system and got what I got. Still good, but left me wanting to go back to try their special.

Delicious food, a must when visiting Mexico City down town. The main dish is grilled beef rib sope, grilled onions and black beans with epazote (goosefoot herb), with hand made tortillas. This not a fancy place at all. Actually Las Costillas El Sitio is an eatery very much as raunchy mexican style, but make not mistake by its apperence. I recently stumbled upon this true hidden gem while exploring the centro histórico of Mexico City, and I must say, it's one of the best finds I've encountered in the city! This restaurant exudes an authentic charm that transports you to the heart of Mexican cuisine. Quite funny story but the first time I came here the waiter actually didn’t bring me what I ordered but I couldn’t even complain because the food was just so incredibly delicious. I devoured everything he brought me! This is a must-visit for anyone craving AUTHENTIC Mexican flavors without breaking the bank. Descubrí este restaurante mientras exploraba el centro histórico de CDMX, y debo decir que es uno de los mejores lugares que he encontrado en la ciudad. Este restaurante irradia un encanto auténtico que te transporta al corazón de la cocina mexicana. Una historia poquito chistosa jaja, pero la primera vez que vine aquí, el camarero no me trajo lo que pedí, pero ni siquiera pude quejarme porque la comida estaba TAN increíblemente deliciosa. ¡Devoré todo lo que me trajo!
