Elkar — Restaurant in Mexico City

We saw the rotisserie chicken cooking outside and decided to eat here since we love this dish. I ordered chicken soup which was lukewarm (expected a nice hot soup) and my rotisserie tacos were substandard. The chicken was so dry that it was inedible, had to send it back, still got charged for those. The service was "alright". The women were courteous, but my order was not as I had requested it (I had ordered no rajas on top of the tacos and they brought the tacos with rajas on top, when I pointed the issue out, they took the plate and just scooped the rajas out, brought...

We chose elkar for dinner after watching a steady stream of customers flow in and out during the afternoon. We ordered many menu items both Mexican (tacos, quesadilla, sopa) and American (burger, chicken nuggets) and they were all awful. The soup had no flavor , unidentifiable broth with no seasoning, rhe burger was undercooked, the chicken nuggets were rhe worst ever- like heavily coated and tough sawdust, the fries lukewarm and flavorless. Food is tasty and the price is right! Service was pretty fast on a Thursday night and the staff was friendly. The portions were decent - not quite American-sized but slightly more than the typical local restaurant. My wife had the flautas de pollo which brought back some childhood memories! I had the tacos de bistec which were awesome - well seasoned and they did not skimp...
