I was really excited to visit this place since I’ve read about their great coffee, and this is what I found: •The place has a great service, the waiter was super helpful and attentive at all times. He was quickly to locate me in a place I would find comfy according to my needs at the time (since I needed a place to charge my iPad). •The beverages were amazing! I ordered the champurrado, a tangerine juice and a “cold brew de olla”. Every single one of these were just amazing. •The food was simple, and mostly good, yet really overpriced. I ordered the egg on a toast with dried tomatoes; it was good, however not THAT great. The side dish was a salad consisting of just a mix of greens and an olive oil based vinaigrette, which is as plain as you can get. The sweet bread was really good, but could also be considered a little overpriced because of its nature. •The atmosphere was confortable and quiet; like a really lovely place to go when you want to get some light work done, read a book, or mostly just chill with yourself.
So, I would come back for the coffee and bread, but wouldn’t recommend it if you want to have a substantial, big breakfast or if you have a...
Read moreI was disappointed by my visit. Our servers were very friendly, but beyond that, pretty much everything was very meh.
We ordered: cafe de olla - this was actually very tasty esquites - very little corn, too watery, lacking flavor hummus - I’m disappointed to say you’ll easily find a better hummus at the grocery store. This came recommended to us but it was overall basic. It was very bland chilaquiles verdes with chicken - they were not bad, I’d give them 3.5/5 torta de milanesa - for flavor, a 3/5, but this was one of the more overpriced things we ordered menu del día with a side of chicken - for starters, the side of chicken they offer to add on costs just about as much as the dish itself ($190) which for what you get is insane. The beans were probably the best part of the dish
Overall, food was pretty disappointing and the final bill even more so. Won’t be going back except maybe...
Read moreAVOID THIS PLACE ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE FOREIGN. Unfortunately the quality of the food has fallen since I was here and is definitely not on par with what you would expect from Enrique Olvera and his restaurant group.
Just as distressing is that the waitress worked every angle to figure how to charge me for extra items and essentially double the price of my meal. When confronting her about it she employed a proven tactic of taking faster than I, a foreigner, could comprehend and employed slang I wasn’t familiar with. The move was to wear me down and it’s a fantastic move because I did get worn down. I let her win. However I hope to warn future souls that this once great...
