During our stay at the Four Seasons Mexico City, we decided to have breakfast at Zanaya Café instead of venturing out into the bustling traffic—and what a fantastic decision that turned out to be!
The café is beautifully situated, offering a vibrant setting with a choice between a lush tropical patio and a cozy indoor dining area. The ambiance alone is a reason to visit.
The buffet selection was outstanding. From savory dishes to sweet indulgences, everything was thoughtfully curated. The pastries were a highlight—phenomenal almond croissants and cinnamon rolls quickly became my favorites. The made-to-order omelet station was equally impressive, allowing for complete customization. I even requested avocado toast with scrambled eggs, and it was prepared to perfection.
Adding to the charm, they offer tableside chocolate-making, which was an unexpected and delightful experience.
What truly set this café apart was the service, especially from Gustavo. He went above and beyond, showing genuine care and attention. On the first day, when I wasn’t feeling well, Gustavo packed some fresh papaya for me, explaining that it would help soothe my stomach—and it did! This human touch made the experience truly special.
Zanaya Café is not just a place to eat; it’s an experience. The combination of exceptional service, delicious food, and a stunning setting makes it a must-visit spot for anyone staying at the Four Seasons or even just passing through Mexico City. Highly...
Read moreUnderwhelming, disappointing, waste of an evening which could have been spent elsewhere in the short visit to Mexico City.
Having spent the previous evening at ling ling by Hakassan which was a perfect experience, tonight’s visit to Zanaya was amateur in comparison.
F&B director should be embarrassed; working in the same industry in London myself, the failures in service and standards stood out a mile and not what you would expect from an average restaurant never mind in the four seasons.
It is clear they are happy to rely on the beautiful surroundings of the restaurant and courtyard, but an unmotivated and untrained team with mediocre food and very unbalanced cocktails.
No host to greet on arrival, 10 minutes to be seated, 30 minutes on arrival to order food, 15 minutes wait for cocktails, vaguely warm food on delivery, gin cocktail too much lime, no check back on food, waiter uniform basic and not in line with surroundings, waiter collecting dirty plate from table whilst already holding dirty plate from another… I could go on.
I did not want to embarrass my partner by complaining as it was an anniversary dinner, something that was made aware at time of booking but not acknowledged either.
Mexico City has much better options, don’t be fooled by the brand or Instagram-able...
Read moreMaybe i had bad luck but i went to celebrate my bday last wednesday december 15th and the experience was quite dissapointing. Food is fantastic but service was an absolute disaster. I took my parents with me, as soon as we walked in a server gave us a snobby look, we confirmed our reservation and were seated. At that point, the restaurant was at 70 percent with maybe 10 tables. A female server approached us and offered us a drink and the menu, we ordered soups and appetizers and then we were waiting for a while to order the main course, our server approached the table and offered us dessert! I advised her we were only at main course selection. I asked for a pinot grigio and she said she would send the somm, a kind young man who never approached my table despite the fact of being right next to us. I had advised that i was celebrating a birthday prior to arrival and i did receive a comp chocolate cake which I appreciate but did not make up for the lack of interest and energy from the service team. Servers seemed more involved in conversation with the hostess than monitoring the tables. I hope you have a better experience. I tipped generously but I could have spent much more if only the somm had showed us the wine or champagne menu, it was a...
