Terribly! Perfect world class gastronomical experience with imaginative and creative dish preparation and amazing execution. Flavors of local cuisine mixed with inspirations by the very talented chefs that pleasantly surprised even the experienced locals that tried them! Horribly! Impeccable and attentive service by all the staff members hosting our little group of friends, taking care of all our needs and wants making us crave for nothing but a more perfect tranquil and relaxed experience thanks to the very patient and hospitable service staff. Awfully! delicious foods paired with an inspired ritual of the most rare and flavorful Los Danzantes Mezcals complimenting our dishes and enhancing the experience to a new level of gastronomical and alcoholic combination and perfection. The Los Danzantes Mezcals of the variety Añejo and Sierra Negra were especially rich in flavor and complexity with a refined gentleness and depth of experience bursting forward in flavor showing the multiple barrel ages used in the distillation process. We kept ordering more mezcals as they were so delicious and smooth and smoky. If you like barrel aged and well refined liquors such as Scotches, Whiskeys, and Bourbons then you'll love some of the smoky Mezcal varieties such as the Arraqueño (Smoky) or smoother Añejo (Yearly+) or stronger Reposado. If you prefer straight liquors such as Vodkas, Sojus, Tequilas, Schnapps, then try the Joven (young) variety, along with Tobalá, Coyote, or Still Proof for a clean cut nice flavor. Highly recommended for an elevated world class dining and drinking experience for everyone wanting to try such an amazing experience. Take your time, order an appetizer with a Ritual of Mezcals, savor the flavors, then order a soup to enjoy before your meals to cleanse the pallet and keep hydrated, and follow up with one of the main dishes to enjoy. Order a small bottle of sparkling mineral water to keep your electrolytes and minerals up then refill your Mezcal or request a Ritual of different Mezcales. Enjoy your main dish slowly because it'll be unique and delicious. Then save room for a savory desert and choose the mezcal that you enjoyed the most to sip-on with your desert. Don't forget to finish up with an evening drink such as their famous Carajillo de Criollo or a nice cappuccino. Before leaving buy a bottle of Mezcal To-Go since you won't find all of these flavors in the liquor stores around, some of them are special and hard to find. Enjoy at home or introduce your family and friends to some of the best Mezcals in the world. Take them back to the restaurant to serve as a guide to their new experience.

Los Danzantes sits right on Plaza Jardín Centenario in Coyoacán, surrounded by a very touristy square, but once you step inside you realize this is truly fine dining in the middle of it all. The setting is striking, with its open-air design, native stone, and contemporary Mexican style that feels worlds away from the bustle outside. The seasonal specialty is the chile en nogada, a large roasted poblano stuffed with a rich picadillo, blanketed in creamy walnut sauce and crowned with pomegranate seeds. Their version is beautifully balanced and absolutely worth ordering. Another highlight is the marrow sopes—oven roasted bone marrow served on handmade sopes with black bean paste and pickled cactus, decadent and deeply flavorful. We also had the fillet from Vaca Negra beef, sliced perfectly and full of flavor, one of the best steaks we’ve had in Mexico City. Service was flawless, attentive without being overbearing, and the drinks were delicious, with mezcal cocktails that matched the food perfectly. It’s rare to find a restaurant that balances a location so squarely in the tourist path with food and service this elevated. Los Danzantes is a must-visit if you want a true dining experience in Coyoacán.

The food here was delicious! I highly recommend trying some of their appetizers. The guacamole had a unique twist with the chapulines which we really enjoyed. For entrees, we tried to include mole based dishes as they are known for that. The mole negro is rich with spice. The enmolado pato had a sweeter dark mole and a savory green mole. We had several of the different types of mezcal based drinks and they were all delicious. The dessert was beautifully presented with cake filled with a rich chocolate and complimented by a sweet vanilla icecream. Our waiter Isaac was incredible and gave wonderful recommendations. The restaurant is very beautiful and incorporates traditional Mexican motifs. Service was a little slow but we were in no rush and it was worth the wait. There are peddlers closer to the street that come by and interrupt so ask to sit inside if something like that would bother you.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. The food was extremely delicious, however the service was some of the worst we have ever experienced. We were a party of 6 with a reservation made 2 months in advance for lunch. We arrived 15 minutes early and were seated immediately. The first 10 minutes, we received fast and polite service for our drink and lunch orders, however once the plates were brought out - it was a different story. Each one of us experienced our plates, forks, knives, bowls, and meals taken away from us before we were done eating. One of the servers circled our table like a hawk trying to take away the remaining bowls of soup every 2-3 minutes, even though we politely declined each time she appeared. When someone went to the bathroom, they reappeared and took away the half finished meal completely. This all happened less than 30 minutes after we had initially sat down.

Other parties who arrived before us were not given the same treatment, and we had the distinct impression that for some reason or another, they were trying to get rid of us.

I could clearly see 2 servers who worked on our table whispering to each other, pointing, and laughing throughout this ordeal. We weren't offered tea/coffee/desert. We weren't offered refills on our drinks. We were simply seated, and then they wanted us out the door 15 minutes from the time our food arrived and it was painfully obvious. Only the person who brought us our check offered an apology. As we left, I turned and saw the servers again looking our way, pointing, and laughing at us.

An incredibly rude and disappointing experience all around and unlike anything I've experienced in Mexico.

I would not recommend going here for any reason. Save yourself the discomfort and try...
