We stayed at H21 while in Mexico City for 4 nights. We chose H21 because of the good reviews and the location seemingly being a calmer and more culture filled area than Roma or Condesa.
The service from the H21 team we met is truly top notch and comparable if not better than 5 star hotels. They made us feel very welcome and made such a huge difference to our trip. From even before we arrived, the team supported us with the many, MANY questions and requests to make reservations or bookings. When we arrived we had fruit, drinks and a lovely cake to congratulate us on our baby moon. While we were there, unfortunately due to some last minute changes to our trip we forgot to collect tickets to the ballet folklorico. Cristian and Perla even personally brought us to collect the tickets and helped us with updating our dinner reservations so we could have the nice night that was planned.
The hotel itself is beautiful and truly feels like an oasis with all the plants and greenery. The room (Bondad) was beautiful and a split level with a terrace. There were some steps only to the bathroom. The terrace which is equipped with a fridge, microwave and tableware was great for a drink or a morning coffee and pastries. The bathroom amenities included towels, robes, slippers, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, lotion and hairdryer. The water pressure was amazing. The bed was a little lumpy which is the only reason why I marked one star down. The team quickly provided extra pillows upon my request as I’m pregnant and needed the extra support to sleep on my side.
Some packaged pastries, bread, cereal, coffee, tea, milk and fruit are provided for breakfast in a lounge/sitting room. There are also some Mexican cookies/galletas to have with coffee or tea throughout the day.
Location wise it was a good choice for us as we preferred the vibe and environment much better than the main city centre area. It’s worth noting that when there’s bad traffic it takes an hour or possibly longer to get into the city centre area. This is a large chunk of the day so unless you truly want to spend a chunk of your time in Coyoacan or a convenient location is important to you this may not be the best option.
There are plenty of decent food options nearby that come highly recommended such as quesadillas Luchas and mi compa chava. If you’re looking for modern Mexican food vs traditional or street food, you’re more likely to find this in the city centre in...
Read moreI travel a lot: I can say that this is probably one of the best-if not the best-hotel where I have stayed. Location: perfect. In beautiful coyoacan literally steps away from the main square and within distance of tons of restaurants, cafés and the Frida Kahlo museum Rooms: simply beautiful. Extremely spacious, comfortable, cozy and spotless. All the little extra touches make for a wonderful stay especially the amazing terrace and suuuuuper comfortable beds. Staff: beautiful Perla and (handsome lol) Cristian are people you wish you had as your friends. They are so lovely, warm, funny, interesting, hospitable and a joy to talk to ! 3 small things: no breakfast served for now as they are in the process of expanding the hotel and adding a dining room ( can't wait !). Didn't bother me at all since there are so many great cafes around. There is construction noise during the day. I didn't notice the first day as I was out all day but noticed the second day when i came back mid day. Didn't bother me at all but still something worth mentioning. Am assuming noise stops at a reasonable hour as I never heard it in the evenings. It will be nice once they are done expanding the hotel! One other minor detail : the front door is very heavy therefore noisy. I had one of the rooms closest to the front entrance meaning everytime someone shut the door it startled me. I was always very mindful of that when closing it myself but I guess not everyone cares or remembers. I would suggest adding a sign reminding everyone to be more careful when closing the door.
In all, a wonderful stay ! I...
Read moreH21 Hospedaje Boutique is a very beautiful place to stay but, I am not sure if I could return. I would first like to list all of the reasons I did like this place because it is a nice place, there was just one thing I personally couldn't stand. Things I liked Very beautiful hotel/boutique. Rooms are nicely decorated and I love the stone they used for the building of it. I did like the big windows. You can look out to a beautiful garden. Loved the complimentary drinks in the fridge. Absolutely, loved the neighborhood. It was close to a park that just came alive at night and tons of people in the morning. Safe neighborhood. Close to many great restaurants and museums. Had free Netflix and other movie options. Things I did not like Free parking inside the hotel gates. You can hear EVERYTHING! People in the next room, outside, in the bathroom. I do have to say that I was arguing with my bf so this could be why it wasn't my favorite stay. I still probably wouldn't like that you could hear everything. They were doing some renovations and it was a tad annoying when you just want to stay in and all you hear is hammering. Parking is a tad cramped. The people checking us in were very nice but, they seemed veryanxious. All three of them escorted us to our room which was different from anywhere I've been. I did feel a little uncomfortable.
In all, it's a very beautiful hotel. I might be back if they fix the...
