Maratea — Restaurant in Mexico City

I don’t recommend going here—it’s just a waste of money on terrible food and horrific service.

This is a cheap place disguised as a nice restaurant. The breakfast menu is very poor and lacking; I honestly doubt there’s a real chef in the kitchen. We had the chilaquiles, an egg casserole, and an egg pie—none of them were remarkable. The pan dulce was nothing special either. When we arrived at 9:30 a.m., nothing was ready. They served us bread from the day before—it tasted okay, but it wasn’t fresh. Definitely not worth the price.

The service was just as bad. At the entrance, they didn’t greet us. Instead, they immediately asked if someone was waiting for us, as if the place were full or reservation-only. In reality, it was empty, and they don’t even take reservations on weekends.

To make things worse, we ordered a clericot and found a fly inside. We were sitting outside in the patio, but there weren’t any flies around—so it clearly came from the kitchen. When we asked to speak to the manager, he was rude and defensive. He never came to the table on his own; we had to call him over just to let him know about...

The hostess is the rudest I’ve ever met… hope she’s not the owner. I’ve tried to get a table 3 times before and this was the one time I decided to give it a shot (my husband didn’t like the way they treated us the times I went before because she looks at you and even when there’s a lot of space she will assign a lousy table). I honestly just stayed to at least be able to give a decent honest review (even when I was given the worst table in an almost empty place). My friend and I were given a table with spilled liquid and a broken glass on the table, I kindly pointed it out and she literally “wiped it” with the menues that then she gave us! —and there was still a lot of little broken glass, so we decided to leave, but then she came and told us to chose another table… We did and had a mediocre pizza they sell as award winning (I ignore if it is true) and we decided to leave and never come back. Peeesimo servicio !!!! Hoy tuve una súper mala experiencia Primero se tardaron alrededor de 30 min en tomarnos la orden . Y la tomaron porque tuvimos que secuestrar a la mesera que estaba atendiendo otra mesa para que nos tomará la orden.

Pedimos algo bien sencillo Agua , una tisana , una pasta y dos postres.

Una vez más no nos traían nada, ni siquiera el servicio inicial y que nos traen los postres primero ….dijimos bueno ya ahí los dejamos tantito en lo que comemos . ( esto sin traer siquiera cubiertos y bebidas )

Tuvimos que hablarle a oooootro mesero para recordarles que habíamos pedido pasta y las bebidas . (En total nos atendieron 4 meseros que íbamos cachando )

Ya después trajeron las bebidas y un ratote después la pasta ( qué cabe aclarar que el menú es italiano y pues no la puedes regar en la pasta pommodoro) . Bueno la traen y súper fría !!! Y la salsa que a según era de jitomate rostizado y albahaca sabia a salsa de lata súper insípida y sin nada nada de albahaca . Aún así dijimos órale va , nimodo no está rico tampoco .

Para rematar que volteo y justo a un lado de mi mesa UNA CUCARACHA GIGANTEEEEEE . Y mi mamá se le acercó al gerente súper discreta para no hacer mayor tema y le dijo que si la quitaban para que no se diera cuenta la gente, el solo fue , la recogió con una servitoalla y no dijo nada .

Y jamás nos trajeron la cuenta igual tuvimos que pescar a otra persona y cuando el gerente se acercó pues le dijimos que la verdad el servicio estaba pésimo y la comida mala y con lo de la cucaracha pues que sabemos que vienen de la calle pero solo que lo checaran .

Al salir me encuentra la mesera que nos atendió solo al principio y me dijo - ¿Oye checaste si te cobre todo ? - y yo la verdad ya molesta le dije -Discúlpame pero no me fije , ósea solo pague y ya , pero pues eso lo puedes checar tu -

Y resulta que no nos había cobrado los postres (cabe aclarar que pedimos también un café y una rebanada de pastel para llevar que JAMÁS LLEGÓ ), a lo que me dice , entonces espérame y ya le hablamos al gerente xq ya después de que nos hicieron pasar un súper mal rato a mi mamá y a mi ya solo nos queríamos ir . Y mi mamá le dijo al gerente , discúlpame pero ya ese fue error del personal y que no están para nada atentos a su trabajo y ya el gerente solo se le quedó viendo y dijo -A ok , entonces pues ya nos hacemos cargo - digo obvio molesto .

Les hicimos el comentario en su Instagram para que pudieran checar esa parte y a los 5 minutos lo borraron . Lo que significa que sus comentarios ahí no son reales . Ya que aquí en googleo coinciden que el servicio no es bueno ni la comida .

Ósea si están al pendiente de sus redes pero no del servicio .
