Oaxaqueñisimo — Restaurant in Mexico City

Oaxaquenisimo is one of the most unique, exotic, and otherworldly Mexican Restaurants we have visited anywhere! I mean, anywhere! This hard to describe multilevel establishment mixes a combination of eclectic design styles that combine what I call Mexican-Goth, Day of the Dead Tributes, with colorful arrays of street vendor ornaments and artisanal artifacts and dedicated and named dining rooms throughout the premises. There is no place in this restaurant with any place left except for walking and sitting. On our arrival we were courteously guided to our dining room, the ‘Corazones’ (the Hearts) Room (fully adorned with all kind of hearts and heart like art from skulls to Sacred Heart motifs. Once at our seats and browsed through the menu, it wasn’t long before we found out this place was not just for show – it meant business, good eats business! We started with some simple stuff to whet our appetites and quench our city walking thirsts like: Agua de Horchata, Margarita Tradicionales, Modelo Especial, Refrescos (refreshments) and XX Lager. We then started hitting the real stuff – their appetizers! We enjoyed some really good Picaditas Surtidas and Totopos – incredible appetizers. And, I must say, their salsas were extremely delectable! The best didn’t stop there, the entrees that came were incredible to say the least. The group ordered a variety of servings, including Burrito Cuatro Carnes, with four distinct types of meat. Volcán (Volcano) con Arrachera (seasoned Skirt Steak), oh you would love this. And the likes of Volcán con Tasajo – an incredible shredded beef dish that will make your mouth water! For its out-of-this-world uniqueness, incredibly fabulous flavors, wonderful personal patron attention, and its product and presentation quality, taste and value, this restaurant should be a must visit when visiting Ciudad Mexico. El servicio fue horrible, no lo recomiendo para nada. Desde que llegamos el mesero mostró una pésima actitud, parecía que le molestaba atendernos. Cuando trajeron la comida fue un completo desastre: solo había dos mesas en el área y aun así no sabía a quién correspondía cada platillo. Dejaba los platos en mesas equivocadas por 10–15 minutos y luego los movía como si nada.

Encima, nos trajo un platillo mal y cuando le dijimos que no era lo que pedimos, en lugar de corregirlo se puso a discutir con nosotros, insistiendo en que así lo habíamos pedido. Total falta de respeto y profesionalismo.

Para rematar, al salir escuché a un trabajador decir que el mesero estaba borracho, y con todo y eso lo dejaron seguir atendiendo a los clientes. No es sorpresa que varias mesas, incluida la mía, se fueran molestas y decepcionadas.

La comida estaba pasable, pero con un servicio tan malo ni ganas quedan de volver. Definitivamente no regreso y tampoco lo recomiendo a nadie.

The service was horrible, I absolutely do not recommend this place. From the moment we arrived, the waiter had a terrible attitude, as if he didn’t even want to be there. When the food finally came out, it was a complete mess: there were only two tables in the area and he still didn’t know which dish belonged to whom. He kept leaving plates at the wrong tables for 10–15 minutes and then moving them around like nothing happened.

On top of that, he brought us the wrong dish and when we told him it wasn’t what we ordered, instead of fixing the mistake, he argued with us, insisting that we had ordered it that way. A total lack of respect and professionalism.

To make matters worse, as we were leaving, I overheard one of the staff members saying that the waiter was drunk, and yet they still let him serve customers. No wonder multiple tables, including mine, left upset and disappointed.

The food was just okay, but with service this bad, there is no reason to ever come back. I will definitely not return and I don’t recommend this...

Tengo algunos puntos importantes que mencionar.

1- el lugar tiene una temática muy bonita, no excelente pero si, se presta para algunas fotos y subirlas a tus redes sociales. 2- De los 6 platillos que pedidos 2 de ellos realmente no valen la pena, como el panbazo con mole y las gorditas. 3- El mole, que es uno de sus platillos principales ya que varios de ellos lo llevan, realmente es un 7/10 le falta sabor y te lo sirven frío. 4- Las bebidas de las cuales prívalos 5 diferentes, la mescalinas saben exageradamente a zuco, la única buena fue la de frutos rojos, el mijito de casi un litro Yeni como medio kilo de azúcar a lo cual fue desagradable, rescato solo el mezcal, y eso que le faltó sus rodajas de naranja, más no de limón con chile. El café está bien. 5- llegamos temprano creyendo que había gente, el trato se podría decir que bien al inicio ya que después la mesera se perdía y cuando lográbamos pedir algo tardaban más de 20 mnts en entregárnoslo. 5- el personal te deja abandonado por estar comprando perfumes frache en la entrada del lugar. 6- y quizás de las más importantes, revisa tu Tiket ya que la cuenta presenta una cifra y abajo otra en grande a la cual pregunté y su respuesta fue ” no sé ” pregunté qué si ya incluía propia y comentaron que no, algo TURBIIOO AHÍ. 7- Al momento de pagar se tardaron más de 15 minutos en traer el cambio a lo que nos salimos y al vernos que nos íbamos se pusieron a cobrar, hago mención de nuevo que no había gente, más que una mesa y nosotros. 8- los bancos es lo más incómodo del lugar son lo peor para estar cómodos en la mesa.

Mi opios es largar, pero te doy puntos en los cuales puedes mejorar tu estancia, en lo personal vi, que algunas personas solo entraban pedían una copa se tomaban la foto y salían, ahora logro entender porque. Fuimos 3 personas y pagamos una cuenta de casi $2,000 pesos mexicanos incluyendo bebidas.
