The Santas Conchas restaurants is in a nice location, next to parque Mexico. So if you're walking around, stop by, or have a walk after eating here. The cafe de olla was good but very sweet, so feel free to ask for either more water or some regular coffee mixed with it. The Conchas some traditional but most colorful and with different combination of flavors. For example, I had a concha sliced in half and added guayaba with cream and it was better than I expected. The tlacoyos were good, the Concha with Nata was ok. They even had a pride concha so I'm glad they included it in their temporary menu. As for the service, it was good, I didn't feel rushed and had what I wanted. I saw many locals as well as tourists eating here. I'll come back to try more things...
Read moreThis is not your typical 5 star review - the concept is certainly strange (spicy food in a concha?) and it has a tourist trap vibe being so close to parque Mexico - but don’t let those small details fool you.
The food is consistently good, they have a beautiful upstairs and rooftop (which unfortunately will be moved a floor down, but was nice while it lasted).
Favorite dishes are:
Conchicuerna (good for kids too) Cochinita Concha They have another dish with Mole, arroz, plátano, etc that is also very good
Good stuff. Only complaint is that the coffee is meh, but plenty of other drinks...
Read moreTourist in Mexico. I stumbled upon this restaurant.. had an amazing Torta (sandwich) and a refreshing beer. The staff spoke basic english, which although not expected, is also appreciated. (If not google translate works fine). Again, the staff was so nice and the service was excellent. Highly y satisfied of the food and overall experience
