Garbage service- we inconvenienced them Gas station level cocktails Sad experience

Talk about a let down! I came here 5 years ago and had an incredible experience, and have been dying to go back! So tonight to celebrate my birthday, my boyfriend suprised me with a reservation here! From the minute we walked in the service was terrible! The hostess just pointed to 2 tables and said pick one, then a waitress came over and said are you ready to order. No, welcome, can I share the specials, what can I start you with..etc. turns out EVERY employee was on dinner break together at that moment! So for any service we had to Interrupt their meal! To add to it, they have a special section on their menu for "gin and tonic bar" which you would assume means they do a good g&t. See picture attached! My boyfriend ordered the basic gin and tonic with red fruits, we got a glass of gin with genediene, 3 raspberries and a can of tonic. HOME DEPOT DIY COCKTAILS.

This was such a let down. We walked across the park and had my birthday somewhere else. Such a...

Second visit: Ordered Pechuga de Pollo al Limón ($290 MX) and Chuleta de Cordero con Humus ($540 MX). We were hungry and ordered quickly around 3pm (two hours after opening), but we waited almost quite some time for our food. The bread they brought us (twice) was not warmed, we asked for it to be toasted they kindly complied. The aioli that comes with the bread is flavorful. You can see the portion sizes from the photos, but this is “fine dinning”. The lamb chop was grilled to a perfect temperature but the burn marks carried a strong charred taste. The pollo was a delicious dish for the price and I recommend it. My first experience here the food was acceptable. Both times the atmosphere has been wonderful and the neighborhood is very charming. I came here originally after hearing of such great food. Perhaps I came on a couple of bad days. If you must know, I’m not a fresa, just a normal guy looking for good quality food. 3 stars bc I have hope for rojo bistró and will likely give them another try to update...

Horrible food. Do not go here! This is one of the worst meals I’ve had in years. Worse than airplane food.

The onion soup was flavorless — basically canned Campbell’s beef broth with bits of onion and bagged cheese floating in it.

The steak frites was TERRIBLE. The steak was presumably a thin cut ribeye? But it was impossible to tell. It was mostly gristle and sinew with a few random pieces of bone mixed in. It was served with three sad boiled baby carrots and cold, rubbery French fries.

The service was lovely and the environment was nice, but the food was so terrible I must caution anyone from ever going there.

Worth noting is that it’s also quite expensive. The steak frites was $650 pesos — more than twice what I’d expect to pay for a high quality steak in CDMX. This was decidedly not a high quality steak.

My partner ordered the pollito and it was the saddest dish I’ve ever seen. The tiniest chicken you can imagine and completely flavorless.

Avoid...
