BEWARE!! We stayed at one of Sam’s Airbnbs in Condesa last year and it was by far the worst Airbnb experience of my life!

TL;DR - dirty sheets and my jewelry was stolen from the unit while we were out. Sam was unhelpful and blamed me for leaving my jewelry in the unit!

We arrived to dirty sheets that still had dirt and hair on them. So on the first night we had to wash the sheets due to the grossness. Then, days later, Sam told us that someone was going to go service the gutters outside of the unit. Because we were working remotely, we decided to leave the Airbnb to not be there when the gutter people arrived. Sam told us they were only doing service outside and did not need to go inside the unit. I was in a rush that morning and forgot my jewelry, which included some cheap pearl earrings, a fake gold engagement ring I used for travel, and my actual gold and diamond wedding band. Because Sam said no one would be entering the unit, I didn’t think to go back to get my jewelry when I realized it was missing. However, upon our return that evening, everything I’d left by the TV in our bedroom was missing. Sam failed to take any responsibility, blamed ME for leaving my jewelry there, and refused to go to the unit to change the keypad code (which I requested because I felt unsafe knowing someone had entered the unit and could return). Instead, Sam sent his friend to change the code because he said he spoke with his parents and they didn’t think it was a good idea for him to meet us. I didn’t care about the money, I cared about my ring, that’s it! Sam was unhelpful and instead sent my husband $100 and insisted no one ever entered the unit that day. The victim blaming was so...
