Wow, Spirits of Mexico (SOM) in La Condesa completely blew me away! From the moment we sat at the bar, we were treated to an experience that was nothing short of exceptional. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and shared the rich history behind each dish, which added a special layer to every bite. It felt like enjoying elevated street food, with flavors that really took me back. The vibe and atmosphere were so cool, it felt like I was right at home.

The liquor selection was also top-notch. As someone visiting from Washington State but originally from Uruapan, I was thrilled when the bartenders recommended unique drinks from my home region. Their passion and attention to detail shined through every personalized suggestion.

All in all, 10/10 – I’ll definitely be back!

We visited for drinks post lunch - the drinks were great but we sat outside and the reason for 2 stars is that we saw a couple, a man and a woman wearing a mask in a wheelchair, come and ask the bar staff if they could speak to us. They then proceeded with what was obviously a scam to ask us to buy their petrol as they were visiting the hospital but their card didnt work…. And that they would transfer us the money back. A clear scam, after we declined they went and thanked the staff for allowing them to ask us and left. There was a table of Spanish speaking locals sitting next to us who were not asked anything… The conclusion that we were seen as marks, tourists etc, to be exploited, was really disappointing and terrible customer service. A unique experience highlighting some of Mexico's less-known spirits (not just tequila and mezcal!) We had a cocktail with pox and another with sotol. The service was impeccable, the staff was highly knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the diversity. With Maizajo around the corner, it provided an easy stop for a pre or post dinner cocktail - aiming for the same clientele - a consumer who wants to know where their food and beverage are coming from and share the stories of the producers.

Couldn't recommend this location any more, wish we had more time in Condesa to...
