Review: Nevería Roxy - A Timeless Ice Cream Experience in Mexico City

Nestled in the heart of Mexico City, Nevería Roxy is more than just an ice cream parlor—it's a nostalgic journey into the past. As soon as you step through its doors, you’re greeted by a charming, old-school atmosphere that feels like a delightful step back in time.

During my visit, I indulged in their famous dark chocolate ice cream, and it was nothing short of a revelation. The flavor was rich and velvety, with a perfect balance of sweetness and a deep cocoa essence that felt both luxurious and comforting. Each spoonful melted smoothly on my tongue, leaving behind a lingering taste that made me savor every moment. It was evident that this wasn’t just any chocolate ice cream; it was crafted with care, using high-quality ingredients and an age-old recipe that has stood the test of time.

What makes Nevería Roxy truly special is not just the ice cream, but the entire experience. The retro décor, with its checkered floors and vintage posters, adds to the charm, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a treat. The staff, warm and welcoming, enhance the experience with their friendly service and passion for the craft.

If you’re in Mexico City and craving something sweet, Nevería Roxy is an absolute must-visit. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, the chocolate ice cream is a must-try, and the ambiance will make you feel like you’ve discovered a hidden gem from a bygone era. It's a place where memories are made, one delicious...

A can't-miss in the Condesa. Hint: The "Nieves" are sorbettos and "helados" are milk based.

Try the Zarzamora (blackberry) if you're craving a more balanced sweetness, that might even be on the "light sweet" side if you're a person that likes sweets.

Try the Maracuyá (passion fruit) if you like tangy, sour stuff.

Try the Guanábana (sourop) if you want something on the sweet side without all the sourness but still some of the tangy.

The ambiance is casual and familial. You'll find parents creating memories with their smiling children. Looking around to the tables around you, you might also notice the look in the eyes of adults reliving their own childhood memories through the delicious flavors and textures from this historic...
