This is a very good place for breakfast. Nearest outdoor and indoor seating. The place apparently is an old man she. We sat on the ground floor at a nice table. Service was efficient and professional.
It was sort of a letdown to get a latte made by a machine which was a mix between a latte and cappuccino. It wasn't bad but it wasn't made by hand by a barista and it wasn't inexpensive.
I got the Señor Mollete. It was a beautifully presented disappeared for me it tasted like a really good South Carolina barbecue with a slate Mexican spice or touch. Very rich. This was on top of bread with guacamole and some vegetables. I think it had a base of beans. It was a great treat and something I would have never gotten in my life but I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend it. It did not have eggs.
My daughter got the French toast. While it was beautiful, there are some things to be aware of. The actual French toast is not truly soaked in batter but rather coated in batter leaving a relatively dry bread in the interior. Well it was good, you are preference will determine how much you like it. There is an unusual thickened yogurt which is purple on top with some really good fresh fruit.
This was an enjoyable breakfast. There was a slight delay in getting one of our meals to the table. The staff let us know and was apologetic. A great restaurant would have offered to refill the coffees or something because of the delay but nothing was offered.
Of note, the table next to us was having a breakfast business meeting. This is something to consider. It was not intrusive but maybe this is a good place for breakfast meetings.
They took credit cards and Amex.
Our table was right next to a bathroom. The entire time the bathroom door was closed. A rude gentleman walked out and left the door open. Keep in mind, you want to make sure the stores closed while you are either if...
Read moreGreat little restaurant in Cuauhtémoc. The quality of the food is outstanding and so is the diversity of their flavours. We managed to try different things in their menu and most were great. The sandwich discreto was excellent, the fish with purple cauliflower puree and the veggies cream was outstanding, probably my favourite in all the things we had. The milhojas was very good, the cream was light and perfectly sweetened, but the pastry was too hard, which made it a bit hard to bite. The benedictine eggs were a bit underwhelming because the hollandaise sauce was too thin and flavourless. Still though I reckon these are only minor details, as the whole experience in the restaurant is quite fabulous. I will definitely try it again as I saw some dishes in the menu that caught my...
Read moreThis was our favorite restaurant in CDMX and one of our favorite restaurants in all of Mexico. Just wow!!! Discovered it the day before we left and ate there 3 times. All the dishes we tried (chilaquiles poblanos, huevos de quien, tartar de tuna, chicharrom de tuna and crema de elote) were amazing. Both the flavours of the dishes as the presentation were works of art! The staff was incredibly kind, eager to help and served our food with the elegance that is suited for a Michelin star restaurant. Truely this place should be at least Michelin recommended and you'd rob yourself of an amazing experience for a great price of you don't come dine here when in Mexico City. Bravo for the Yerba Santa team and hope to...
