Wow! Our experience at Restaurante El Cuatecomate was absolutely marvelous! The organic, authentic prehispanic cuisine was a true delight. We especially loved their agua frescos (also known as Tlayehuiadas), which were fresh and completely sugar-free—such a rare find these days! My personal favorite was the passion fruit mandarin orange flavor, a perfect balance of tart and sweet. There were so many healthy, flavorful dishes to choose from. The flor de calabaza and mushroom soups were both deliciously comforting, and the Tlaltequeadas, their specialty item, is an absolute must-try. I particularly loved the chaya and pumpkin one!

The rice and beans were fantastic, and the freshly made, hand-pressed corn tortillas were the perfect touch. Hansel, the owner, was always around with a warm smile, and his hospitality made the experience even more special. He’s truly fantastic and his energy is contagious. I would recommend this place for anyone looking to try pre-Hispanic food. We ordered the chaya con zanahoria y flor de calabaza tlatequeada, betabel con rosa y jamaica tlaqueada (masa patties), tlayehuiadas (drinks) and breakfast platano w piña and mole.

El personal fue amable, había demasiadas moscas , el decorado y los detalles del restaurante están excelente, el tema de la comida pedí venado, conejo, huazontle y Enchiladas, la carne del venado y conejo sabía a carne vieja y sólo la hierven ni la sasonan, estaba muy chuquiosa, solo la bañan en el adobo que tampoco me gustó, los precios de la comida están exageradisimos , nunca me había decepcionado tanto de un lugar, en el menú vi los precios altos y dije ok pero me esperaba que me dieran un producto que valiera la pena, y las porciones son muy pequeñas, es un robo total, las Enchiladas sin sabor, y cada tazita de café a 45 pesos y medio litro de maracuya en 80 pesos , sin contar que el mesero me había comentado que las aguas ya incluyan en el platillo por lo caro que dan ya que están en 450 pesos por platillo, pero al final si me cobraron las aguas, los precios son los más caros que he visto para lo que ofrecen, el lugar no tiene ni aire acondicionado ni los meseros uniformes para que roben así.
