La Cabaña — Restaurant in Nayarit

We were surprised that we were the only people in the restaurant at 7:30pm. It should have been a warning. My wife ordered the beef fajitas, they were bland, chewy, and gristle. I had the shrimp cabana, they were better than my wife’s meal but very average. The food wasn’t good but I would normally give them a pass on this, maybe it was just an off night. The real problem came when the bill arrived. There were two additional charges for 100 pesos each. When I asked what the charges were for the waiter pointed at an empty table and said he’d made a mistake and it was supposed to be for the other table. As we were still the only people in the restaurant it was an almost comical lie. He took the bill and went in the back and used white out to take off the additional charges. We caught two beautiful Bonita fish on a fishing trip we took one morning and the captain of the boat recommended we take them to La Cabaña to have them prepared. We took the meat in, were immediately greeted and seated and asked how we would like our fish prepped. We got ceviche and tacos. Best ceviche I have ever had. The vegetables were so fresh and they complimented the Bonita so well. The tacos were outstanding as well. The price for the quality of food we received was outstanding.

The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the restaurant allows street salesmen in off the street to try and sell goods while you're eating. Generally, I'm fine with the street sales on the street, but when I want to sit down to eat, I'd rather not be pestered to buy things...

La Cabaña, very a traditional Mexican sea food restaurant in Punta de Mita, Nayarit.

The restaurant is OK, though they really need to improve maintenance in its restrooms. It has a relatively parking space by its own which is very convenient if you are driving from Nuevo Vallarta.

The restaurant is beach front. Though that beach is not quite good for seeming as it is a rocky beach.
