What a wonderful meal we enjoyed here. We arrived with no reservations but they were still able to accommodate us with an ocean front table. A server & his assistant came over to introduce themselves and asked for our drinks. We got a couple of pina coladas and a Cadillac margarita. The pina coladas were nice and smooth. They set them down and then light the pineapple on fire for a bit of the flare, pun intended. The margarita was nice and big. The server then came and explained the specials as well as the fresh catches which included bringing a tray of them over for us to see, quite impressive. We decided to go all out. We started with a Caesar salad which is done table side. The young man came over with his tray and all the ingredients to make it in a wooden bowl. That is one of the best Caesar salads I’ve had in a very long time & I’ve worked in fine dining. We also ordered the lobster bisque, not bad but not great either. Could use some umph, my friends said they felt it was fishy. I felt it was a little bland but ok. I asked about the fresh red snapper but the server it was good but that it’s served whole and contains many bones so we ordered the Caribbean lobster tail and the azul shrimp. They were cooked to perfection. The tail was huge definitely to share and we did. It was served with four types of sauces: butter, garlic butter, beurre blanc & some chili style sauce. The shrimp were huge & served butterflied and grilled. The entrees were served with cilantro lime rice and mixed vegetables. The rice could use some zest, for it was lacking and some texture. The vegetables were cooked nicely. They still had a bite to them which tells me that they are cooked to order. It was a mixture of carrots, zucchini, cauliflower, & broccoli. Would have preferred a bit more nicer vegetables but these sufficed. Overall a wonderful dinner. Highly recommend and...
Read moreWe dined twice at this new restaurant during our recent visit to Punta de Mita. Our first experience was excellent. We had lunch. Our waiter (Alberto) was very friendly and even spent time talking to us about his recent move from Mexico City to Punta de Mita (we really enjoy getting to know the Mexican people while we are here so this was great for us). We ordered the blue shrimp and Zarandeado. Both dishes were excellent. In fact the Zarandeado was one of the best preparations I have experienced.
We returned a few nights later for dinner. Our experience was not as memorable. The drinks were excellent. We ordered the Caesar salad that was also very good. For our entrées, we shared the ribeye steak and Blue Shrimp. The Blue Shrimp were slightly over cooked and a little tougher than the shrimp we enjoyed at lunch. The steak was the most disappointing dish of our two visits. Considering the high cost of the steak I would have expected a better cut of meat. I should have ordered the Caribbean lobster but the cost was higher than Maine lobster in the US, so we passed. Our service was good, but not great. Overall we were disappointed with dinner after the great experience we had at lunch with Alberto.
I think Lobster Paradise has the potential of being a great restaurant. The layout and decor of the restaurant is excellent. I especially like the fact that you can look into the kitchen as you enter (and exit) the restaurant. The views are spectacular, as is the tiered seating so everyone gets a view. I think they need to improve the quality of their meat and provide more consistent service. Then I would feel confident in giving this new restaurant a five star. Until then Lobster Paradise will stay on my list of second tier restaurants in...
Read moreI couldn’t wait to try Lobster Paradise. There are signs advertising all over Litibu and Punta Mita. The lobster tempura tacos were underwhelming— There was plenty of meat, And it was very hot. But some of the meat was tough chewy and ??? check out the picture. I don’t mind that, but I think that they are charging way too high of prices for this level of food. I’m not against paying high prices if the food is worth it, but this just was not. Apparently, I’m not alone Read some of the other comments. I find it surprising that the lower reviews receiving answers from management all say “we are surprised…” Which is on same complaint are repeated time after time that it’s too expensive for the food they serve.my three 4-inch tacos were 30 US dollars. I enjoyed meeting Eli who waited on me and appreciate his service. I really really really wanted to like this place as it is directly on the water. It has cocktails and outdoor service and a nice menu. it just wasn’t worth it. But thank you for...
