I have eaten at Mar Y Sol two times this year on my two visits to the Puerto Vallarta area. The first was in June of 2021, we were staying at Vidanta and took a taxi to Bucerias and shopped in the quaint shopping district there, it was a good place to find souvenirs and such, then we walked a couple of blocks to the restaurant, I was dinnertime. We were seated on the beach and got to watch the waves come in and the beautiful sun set as we ate, I don’t think there is a better ambiance than this. There were 4 of us in the group, we hadn’t been there before, but the other couple had. I ordered bacon wrapped shrimp, my wife the coconut shrimp. We avoid alcohol, so we ordered virgin drinks, me a mango tango and her a margarita. The food was exceptional and the drinks were great.
The second trip was for a lunch in February of 2022, we stopped by the shopping market for a bit and then went to the restaurant, my wife and I ordered the same, bacon wrapped shrimp and coconut shrimp and our friends ordered coconut shrimp and shrimp tacos. Once again the food was exceptional and the service was excellent. I highly recommend a meal atMar Y Sol, I know we...
Read moreExtremely lively location on a Saturday afternoon! We’ve been before, most recently just last week with a group of 17 people. Arriving early, around 1:00 ensures seating when the Gecko Band begins to play next door at 3:00. I found the Cadillac margarita which, for the price, I wouldn’t order again. It was kind of “mango” in it’s taste, and the 2 for 1 (110 pesos ) regular margaritas is a much better choice. Our waiter, Cesar, was run off his feet, which is common on a Saturday afternoon, but he did a great job looking after our large party. I ordered the breaded fish plate which was very good. The fish was tasty, and it was not over-breaded. My wife had the stuffed avocado and it also a good choice. Vendors are continual, but that is part of the experience, and with bartering, we picked up some souvenirs as well as a great cream donut for 25 pesos. Drop in and join the...
Read moreGreat place. I don't eat fish or squash family much but I tried the bacon wrapped catch of the day with rice and seasons vegetables. Wee it arrived and I saw zucchini mostly in the vegetables but I decided to try it out and the sauce they had over it made it so delectable I was truly amazed. And the fish really didn't taste like fish more like a steak, lol. It was great over all and I would come again. The price is sort of on the high side though but still a great place for at least once of a lifetime experience. The sales and chips, complimentary is good. The sales is sort of hot but is short lived but of course keep eating it and it will build up quick. I sure it's serano in it not jalapenos or...
