Came on a Fri for lunch. A bit off the beaten path but well worth the discovery. Welcomed by amicable staff with plenty of seating, albeit bustling with customers. Overall it was a great experience, ambiance was great and the ceiling fans kept the establishment cool in the morbid heat and humidity. The marlin tacos were spectacular with the right amount of sauce and flavor of onions and avocados. The shrimp and octopus ceviche were great as well.
The only complaint here is two-fold: they only accept cash and the optional tip for the server became mandatory. The discussion was that the dollar converts to 18 pesos - no problem. But the receipt states at the bottom that the total with tip is optional. I was going to give tip regardless but the server began to argue with me about the conversion as I had showed via my calculator that I had covered the appropriate amount minus tip and that I was going to provide the tip on the way out. The fact the server had the audacity to demand the full 800$ pesos (with tip) instead of the 680$ pesos to cover the meal is not proper. Not to mention, this server collecting was not even our original server. I was actually going to give more for a tip but decided to default to the recommended...
Read moreTerrible customer service, the food was average, the fish was so salty it was was hard to eat. When they give us the bill, they wanted to decide how much tip to charge us with out letting us decide how much to give them, we paid with a card the amount with out the tip and write a note on the bill that the tip was going to be cash. We left them the tip in cash and an older man acting like the boss came out to our taxi acting angry and returned the tip to us. We wanted to to the 8 tostadas in Puerto Vallarta which we have been before and is really good and excellent service but it was a bit further for us that day and we thought it be the same service because of the name but make no mistake big difference we are NEVER COMING BACK...
Read moreFood was average, nothing compared to the one in Vallarta. NOTE: Watch out when getting separate bills, amount of tips being charged without asking you as a customer and let you know decide how much would you like to leave. The lady at the till got angry and shouted out loud “aren’t they gonna leave any tips!?”, to the waiter, after we asked for our change back (to then decide how much we would like to leave). Totally unacceptable behaviour. And yes, we did leave tips whatever we thought it was fair, not what they asked for. When we left the premises the lady at the till started filming us with her mobile phone, WHAT FOR?
Never coming...
