My partner and I had a meal here last night and were pleasantly surprised. We arrived at 630 without a reservation and were accommodated straight away, soon after the entire restaurant was full so we were glad we came a little early. We had escargot and French onion soup for entrées. The soup was fantastic and the snails were great in a delicious butter sauce. For mains we had the beef fillet and beef bourguignon. The fillet was delicious and cooked fantastically. The Bourgogne beef was tender and rich. It came with a side salad which was great for freshness. The wine list is great for wine drinkers in Mexico. The service was great, not overbearing and the food came out quickly too. I did overhear the next table receive a complimentary starter for delay when it was busier. The food portions are on the smaller side but I would say standard size for a more upscale restaurant which is what they are trying to achieve and doing well. A great overall experience and alternative to Mexican cuisine. Would...
Read moreWe live in Bucerias and dine here once a week - when they are open. This is a high end restaurant, you will not be out of place wearing your best. That said the service is warm and friendly. Jean and Sandrine are from France - and this restaurant is the “real deal”. We just returned from Lyon and Boudreaux and to be perfectly frank, if this restaurant was in Bordeaux it would have at least a Michelin star mention if not one star. The wine list is the best in the Bay Area, absolutely no question. We love some of the best restaurants in PV (you know the ones) and although those compete well with the best in the, this little gem in tiny Bucerias stands tall. The foie gras is not my thing, but other tell me it is world class, the escargot is perfect and…the mahi/red snapper dish is amazing. The menu is small, but brilliantly executed. The wine pairings are well done, the pours are generous...
Read moreThis is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best restaurant in Bucerias. The wine selection is elegant, expansive, and refined. Service was relaxed, but attentive in the french style. The owners are a delightful french couple, and they have created a beautiful space to enjoy a meal.
Not only is this the best restaurant in Bucerias, but it is among my top 10 french meals ever, and I have been to france twice. The foie gras was creamy, rich, and perfect. The duck confit was well executed and not too greasy at all, a common pitfall of the dish. A particularly nice touch is the wine pairing recommendations next to each menu item. Leaving the choice in the customers hands, while offering refined recommendations.
Completely unpretentious and absolutely wonderful. I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful restaurant. I will be back on my next visit...
