Bar La Tentación — Restaurant in Oaxaca

DO NOT GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Thieves. I made the unfortunate mistake of going in and ordering beers for my friends and I. When I asked for my change I was told it was 200 pesos. The bartenders insisted I gave them 200 pesos when in fact I gave them 500. After arguing with the bartenders I asked to speak to their manager. The manager stated that he did not believe me as I “do not know sufficient Spanish” and that he has never had an incident with his bartenders. I asked if I could get the owners name and contact and I was told that they do not know who the owner is and they have never met the owner in person. HORRIBLE SERVICE STAFF, HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT. AVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT . Also, be aware that some other patron had a similar experience based on reviews. I am so sad to have seen this in Oaxaca....

I'm giving a 4* for the excellent people watching (great dancers), great live band, full of locals not just tourists and cool environment (tho tight on the dance floor).

Downside: It had to be 32°C/90°F+ before you are even dancing. You really needed a break between each dance and some had an entire wet shirt of sweat. Additionally, it smelled worse than a teenage boys locker room. They really need to figure out more fans and some ventilation!

I would say if you are mentally prepared for the heat and odor, it is worth experiencing for a few...

I went January 10, 2020 Friday night. I doubt there is many lessons there as all can dance salsa well. I was alone and am old. It was safe, I sat at the best chair to view the band and dancing. The table was reserved but for buying a beer and a tip I sat there three hours 10 pm to 1 pm. I can dance salsa so the young gals put up with me til they found a man that interested them.
