The first sign that this place would be something special: the cab driver who took us here immediately told us that we'd made an excellent choice once we told him where to take us. Located on the main road overlooking Zicatela beach, Brisas Del Mar offers quality breakfast at a very affordable price. I scarfed down my Machaca a la Mexicana, complemented perfectly with black beans, queso ranchero and two huge hand-made tortillas while my fiancée enjoyed her vegetarian omelette. We accompanied our meal with green smoothies and finished off our meal with a delicious café de olla. We discovered Las Brisas Del Mar when we accidentally signaled a premature stop on the collectivo, but it was just a couple blocks from our hotel. By far one of the best places to watch the sunset in all of Puerto, the bar overlooking the ocean also delivers the promised relief (las brisas!) to sun-weary explorers. The food was absolutely incredible! We split guacamole and a plate of camarones al ajillo, and returned the next night to try the pescado al ajo and the burrito vegetariano. I was prepared to regret not-ordering fish but these folks work magic with mushrooms- so much umami! Get this; I go in and ask if they serve Ensalada de Nopales. She says No, but we'll make one for you. I showed her a picture of how I like it. They made it exactly the same. Their menu is excellent. A good variety of items. All of it very reasonably priced. And there is a nice view to boot! ☺🖒 So far I very much like this place. Oh ya, also they serve real coffee (as opposed to instant).
