Great food, huge portions, extremely fast and good service, nice atmosphere. Overall, I really think that this place deserves the good rating and the long waiting time is understandable. I also noticed that it is really crowded by locals (and locals know!). I had the pancakes with yogurt and granola and the portion was huge, a lot of fresh fruit , really tasty. I couldn't finish the food and the waiter offered herself to give me the leftovers as take away (I hadn't thought of asking myself). The coffee was good. Really value for money considering quality - size of portion- price - how popular this place is 😅 I was really into trying more dishes but there was such a long waiting time daily that I didn't have the patience to wait but hopefully next time! Totally recommended, just try to get there before 8 (!) or after 11-12 (or brace yourself...

I stopped by El Cafecito for a late lunch after my surfing lesson. One of the surf assistants highly recommended the enchiladas, but when I saw the chile relleno de queso on the menu for MXN $138, I knew I had to try it.

I was seated promptly after washing my hands at the sink by the entrance. Once I placed my order, they brought out bread rolls with butter and a bowl of salsa. The chile relleno de queso arrived in about 10 minutes. The two peppers were generously sized, stuffed with cheese (though I wish it had been melted) and coated in egg batter. They were served in a non-spicy tomato sauce, so I added some salsa for an extra kick. The black beans and tortilla chips on the side helped make this a hearty and satisfying meal.

I paid in cash, so I’m not sure if they...

I apologize in advance for this review, especially growing up in the times b4 social media and how I was raised: if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything. I have been in Oaxaca for 5 weeks, 4 in the city and 1 week here. I have had great breakfasts at Mercado a la Merced, 20 Noviembre and in all the daily markets throughout the 7 valleys.

As a very accomplished chef for 34 years: worst meal ever. I ordered the yogurt with fruit and granola and a latte. Yogurt, etc came b4 my latte, yogurt warms, fruit ok...but, I couldn't eat the granola because the oil in it had turned rancid. Latte was not hot...worst, no one even asked how come I didn't eat my breakfast, nor drank my latte. Not worth it even being a "cheap" option. But, was it cheap, if I...

This is it, the best spot for breakfast and lunch (sorry, have not tried dinner yet but I am certain it's amazing). Don't let the front fool you, it's huge and has lots of room in the back with many plants and trees for a scenic and fun atmosphere. The food it great and the prices are just unreal (very low surprisingly). Always packed so make sure you are ready to wait a little, unless there are seats available obviously. All shaded, cool breeze passes through, and just a block from the beach. A MUST try for food and their pastries! All very friendly and attentive staff.
