I've been coming to Palma Negra regularly for a few years now (usually after pizza at La Spezia) because its the best ice cream in town, no question. Their ice cream is smooth and creamy in texture with no ice crystals, their flavor options are diverse, but not strange, both for dairy based and coconut milk based. (Ive had both, and both varieties are just as good, though different)
They use high quality ingredients, and make a high quality ice cream, but they still charge a fair, maybe even low price for what you get, going off the size of the scoops.
Their ourdoor seating area in a covered garden is also quite comfortable, and is the ideal space to sit and eat an ice cream cone.
The owners are also very friendly, and ive noticed they make a point to get to know their customers, even if they've only visited once or twice before. Their business is a welcome addition to the Rinconada and really makes my visits to the neighborhood that much more enjoyable.
Best of luck with the second location...
Read moreIt is a great place for frozen treats featuring local fruits & chocolate. Today 12-23-2024 was my second time. The first time, my girlfriend & I enjoyed a SENCILLO cone with 2 flavors for 60 MX pesos each cone.
THE PRODUCT IS EXCELLENT!
Today’s experience 12-23-2024 There is some discrepancy regarding employees and customers’ interpretation of the pricing table. It shows ONLY a cone & it reads:
SENCILLO: 60 pesos (1 or 2 flavors; 130 grams)
DOBLE: 70 pesos (1 or 2 flavors; 180 grams)
The table DOES NOT SPECIFY a change of price due to a cup or a cone; the employee does not indicate that to the customer either.
IT IS NOT THE 10 MX pesos!!!
It is the LACK OF CLARITY and the employee’s “interpretation” and lack of customer service.
MANAGEMENT/OWNERS… Please have better training of your employees OR change the pricing table and pictures! Thanks.
Next time, I will order: A 130 gram SENCILLO cone with 2 flavors, for...
