Luna Rossa — Restaurant in Oaxaca

What was meant to be a nice quick casual family meal at a “recommended” pizzeria turned into a painfully long wait for pizzas and slow, uncommunicative and sullen service. Family and tired and hungry kids ended up going home after 1hr and 40 mins and one of us stayed to make it takeaway as they packed up the tables …..as it was so late they were soon closing! . Finally after 2 hrs the pizzas were unceremoniously dumped on the table with not so much as a nod of an apology . It also seemed that they prioritize takeout orders rather than seated customers. 1 hr would have been a long wait. 2hrs is just not ok - no matter how good the pizza (it was reasonably good ) It seemed like we were not the only ones waiting and waiting …This business needs (much) better management to either turn away take away orders or not accept customers and at the very least communicate and treat customers...

Def NOT great: the food was bland and cooked with NO seasoning (I literally doused everything in red pepper flakes) and customer service from the wait staff is awful—nearly 20 mins for a menu after sitting. Asked for a small change to the menu (pasta with shrimp and salmon in place of ravioli) and was told it was doable and would be an up charge of $20MXN. Waiter arrived with ravioli and had only changed the cream sauce of the dish. “Sorry, we can’t change the dish,” he says when I point out I asked for pasta. Bill arrives and I’ve been charged $30MXN instead of $20MXN (it’s the principle, not the money) for a dish that I didn’t get. When I asked about it, “oh, sorry, yeah, it’s 30 pesos more, not 20 like I said.” The owner heard ALL of this (he was less than three feet away) and did NOTHING. Went here for dinner, the place looked promising at first, I made the terrible mistake of not looking at the reviews, my wife and I ordered a large pizza (they only have medium and large) it took them almost an hour and a half to bring our food, some other tables got their food first than me and they got seated after me, when I asked why they lied in my face saying that those costumers “ordered on the phone before getting there”, no complimentary drinks or bread, nothing to make it up for the mistake and the wait, we overheard other tables complaining of the same problem with their pizzas, they had been waiting for over an hour as well, when asked for a discount they were very rude and totally dismissed the situation, horrible experience, please read this reviews before coming to this place, I would give them 0...
