La Pizzería — Restaurant in Oaxaca

As amny have said before me... Amazing Pizza. One of the best I've ever had, even after having travelled though northern Italy! A nice surprise here in Oaxaca. The combination of great dough and a proper pizza oven makes a world of difference. It doesn't appear to be such a difficut thing, to make good pizza, but few people seem to know how. Here they've mastered the art. The pesto and salsa were a delicious bonus and all for a fair price. The Tiramisu I received seemed smaller than recent reviews, but after sampling many along my travels (a good Tiramisu has become my favourite desert) it rated high on the list.

The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because while I was there, watching the pizza being made, there was a teenage boy, who I presumed to be the owners son, stood opposite the counter eating directly out of the ingredients. It was just a little off putting, not the fact that he was eating, but putting his (I can only hope to be clean hands) in the cheese and chorizo that goes onto everyone's pizza.

El Viernes por la tarde nos dimos una vuelta a Mazunte principalmente a comer unas pizzas en La pizzeria ya que varias veces se nos habia antojado y manejamos desde Puerto Escondido solo para probarlas. Llegamos a las 5.00pm y al ver que el restaurante abria a las 6.00pm decidimos dar la vuelta viendo a los artezanos para no molestar en lo que daban las 6.00pm. Y asi fue despues de esperar la hora nos presentamos nuevamente a La Pizzeria, llegamos y al ver que seguian preparando las cosas para abrir nosotros muy amablemente preguntamos que si podiamos pedir unas cervezas y sentarnos en lo que acababan de preparar para abrir. 2 de las cocineras nos dijeron que como se habian quedado dormidas el restaurante no estaba listo. Luego un mesero alto nos dijo muy grosero, que no podiamos pasar por que si mas gente veia que ya habia gente en el restaurante iban a querer entrar tambien, nosotros un poco confundidos hasta nos reimos por que no tiene sentido querer tener un restaurante vacio despues de la hra de apertura? Para este entonces mi Mama habia pasado a hacer pipi en el baño por que teniamos todas las intenciones de quedarnos (eramos una mesa grande de 10 personas) cuando mi Mama salio del baño el mesero muy grocero le dijo que le echara agua al escusado y al ser tratados de esa manera decidimos mejor ir a buscar otro lugar donde comer, ya ibamos de salida cuando el mesero nos grito desde el otro lado del restaurante "les voy a guardar su caca". En primer lugar no usamos el baño para defecar y en segundo lugar esa no es una manera de hablarle a una señora. Salimos un poco enojados y decepcionados al llegar al estacionamiento un señor nos escucho quejandonos y le explicamos lo que succedio el nos recomendo una Pizzeria ahi mismo en mazunte se llama "Buena Onda" se las recomiendo muchisimo los empleados super atentos , el servicio excelente y la comida deliciosa!!!! Espero que el dueño del restaurante La Pizzeria vea este Review y ponga en linea a sus empleados ya que con esta actitud solo van a hacer que la gente no regrese. Los Empleados eran 2 señoras en la cocina y 1 mesero alto. Todo esto sucedio el Viernes 28 de Febrero...

Maybe it’s because I hadn’t had pizza in so long but this place is great! I went on a weeknight and it was BUSY! I decided to take mine to go, so this review isn’t holistic in having a dining experience. Though, the staff I interacted with were kind. The pizza I chose was the classic, Margherita. It was 100 pesos for a medium sized pizza, which I thought was VERY reasonable, if not a steal. The crust was thin and crunchy, the sauce was a perfect amount, and the cheese wasn’t too much, nor too little but just the right amount. They topped it with some basil leaves, threw in this spicy sauce and a garlic sauce. I LOVED the spicy sauce to dip the crust in. Overall, I would recommend grabbing some...
