Favorite spot in Oaxaca to eat. Not only are Marta and her son amazing people, they make amazing food. Highly recommend you try this place. They have probably one of the better if not the best tortillas made fresh right when you order. Food is inexpensive as well. I got a memela, chile relleno taco, another taco (forgot the name), a quesadilla and a coke. Total was $230 before tip. I won’t be surprised if this place gets a Michelin star or bib gourmand soon. Simple and well executed food.

This was our first meal in Oaxaca and it was such a delicious way to start our trip! Our first time trying a memela, and we are sold. We shared a queso memela, chile relleno taco, and mushroom empanada. Each was absolutely incredible, so I highly recommend coming hungry and trying as much of the menu as possible! The family who operates the restaurant is so sweet and welcoming. You feel like you’re invited into their home to share a meal. Thank you! We will be back on another trip ☺️

Found this on Google maps and it stood out because of the 5/5 rating. Well I can tell you, it's certainly worth the 5/5 rating!!! It's a very small and cosy restaurant, you can sit at the bar and talk to the cook. It's a very social experience. He (I forgot his name, sorry) is very friendly and open to talk to. The food is everything you hoped for. Probably the best Mexican food I've had so far. The flavours are spot on, and they dance in your mouth!

we had a great experience here! i had some incredible yellow mole empenadas and my partner had some memelas with beans, chicken and quesillo that were equally delicious. fresh and delicious tortillas and really great service. obviously family run and a great atmosphere, the man serving us spoke pretty good english and was very nice in explaining the dishes to us, but also let me practice my little bit of spanish! good pairing of a modern space with incredible traditional dishes. it’s open onto a busy street so felt a bit loud at times but i think if they played some nice music it would be the perfect place to be. either way,...

DELICIOUS!!! I believe these were the best tacos I've had in Oaxaca, and I have been to quite a few places. It's a tiny place, just six or seven seats facing the food prep area, and a small table for two. The tortillas are made as needed, right there. The menu is very limited; three kinds of tacos, and (I think) empanadas. I had a taco de chile relleno and a taco de puerco. Both were truly excellent. VERY flavorful. At 55 pesos for each taco, I thought they were pretty pricey, but if you...

Absolutely fantastic place! It seems to be a small family run business serving fresh, no nonsense tasty dishes. We were looking for a light evening meal and were made the most delicious tlayuda’s. The place is well kept and cosy, there is a small seated bar overlooking the ‘cooking area’ with 4 chairs so not very big but it adds to the experience. Everyone is very friendly and you can tell they care about their food. Great value price wise given the quality of the food, would...
