We went for breakfast Sunday morning, we didn’t get there right at 9am more like 9:20ish and parking was tough on the same street. We had to drive around and found a small street to park and walked 4-5 minutes. There was a wait, we waited 1 hour for a party of 6 but the wait was worth it! The service was ok, they didn’t really check on us, we had to call them over each time we needed something. We finished our drinks quick and weren’t offered refills or even water. Portions are generous and everything we ordered overall had good flavor. We got chilaquiles rojos y verdes, a sweet waffle, sides of egg and bacon, the Americano Desayuno, a fruit bowl with Greek yogurt, an almond croissant and latte, oj and a cucumber drink. They have plenty of pastries to choose from as well.
They do have high chairs but don’t have changing stations in the bathroom for babies.
The place is cute but it does tend to get a little warm. I would come back to try...
Read moreI was expecting a modern twist on Oaxacan dishes, like a brioche grilled quesillo sandwich or tlayuda w/quesillo quesadilla topped with arugula and avocado etc. but that was far from what the menu listed. Don’t get me wrong, The foods was still good, but it felt like I was in a hipster part of Chicago (wicker park) instead of Oaxaca. I got the crispy chicken sandwich (I ate it before taking a picture). It was awesome! The garlic aioli sauce was sooo good, they need to bottle that and sell it! I took home a raspberry cream cheese pastry and chocolate banana smoothie. I’m still dreaming about the smoothie, it was rich and had just the right amount of sweetness! 5 stars for food & service. I would’ve given the atmosphere a 5, but we sat above the kitchen and it was extremely hot! It would’ve been nice if they had ceiling fans. Overall if a wicker park esthetic is what you’re looking for...

The sandwiches, characterized by a delightful interplay between sweet grilled onions and succulent steak, carve out a niche of their own. Further enhancing the experience is the remarkable salsa macha, an ideal companion for the accompanying potato fries, elevating the entire meal to a harmonious crescendo.
