Deck 5 Pool and Skybar — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

Great time while you're there but horrible experience at checkout. They will rob you. Literally!

When you walk in they make you feel like you just found the best spot to hang out at in Playa del Carmen. You are told that the 300 pesos per person entry fee counts as a credit for your food and drinks...but that is an utter lie.

For one...there is no food menu...so it's only a drinks menu. Most mixed drinks/beers/shots are priced around 150-250 pesos. We went in with 3 people and supposedly had a 900 pesos credit (between the 3 of us @ 300 each) ...we had about 3 to 4 drinks each (max 1000 per person including that 300 peso credit for each) so you would think the bill, after factoring in the credit of 300 pesos, would be around 2200 to 2400...but the bill at checkout was 5,080 pesos (which is over double - and for reference, about 385 Canadain $ or 300$ USD), and when we asked about the 900 peso credit we were basically told to take a walk...

Bunch of thieves...nice view, but I'm sure it's not worth being robbed... If you want to go in, make sure you are ready to...

Came here in the early afternoon on Sunday. Carefully with their hours - they open at 12 pm, not 11 am like Google says! The pool was too cold for me but the views were great. I don't drink so we got some smoothies and they were good. They said they won't have any food this week so they let us order from other places. To enter this place, go inside theCarmen hotel and pay 600 pesos (per person) at the reception. You can get drinks to reclaim those 600 pesos. Both the reception and the bar...

the best roof top in Playa del Carmen, they have a great view. private beach if you wanted to swim in salty water, they have a great pool, great music, super cool djs, amazing drinks, food is pretty decent and service is very good. very recommended! once in a while they also host parties.
