We were greeted awkwardly behind a rope and then asked if we had a reservation. We were taken through the little cozy space downstairs to the little stairwell. Once upstairs we were shown to the (newest?) expansion area which was so bright and hot. The other spaces were quaint and cozy with dim lighting and we were taken to a space that felt like we were in a cafeteria. The weirdest part is that they had nice soft music playing 10 feet away in the other room and when we were seated they had this electronic rave music BLARING - we couldn’t even hear each other at the table. I was so confused .. I thought we were in a different restaurant. We sat there for ten minutes with 3-4 staff members watching us but no one came to offer a drink or tell us about the menu.. nothing. I eventually got tired of watching them just stand there and asked one of them to come and take a drink order. A young gentlemen came and although friendly it felt very awkward as though he had never served or greeted a table before. There was no offer to explain the menu or the restaurant concept or why they were playing electronic rave music in an Italian restaurant.. 🤯
We ended up ordering food at that time too as we had already sat for 10+ minutes and didn’t need any additional time.
Food arrived and it was good. Nothing mind blowing.
Chimichurri had no vinegar or acid.. no garlic .. no seasoning.. it was just olive oil and parsley .. maybe oregano and basil. Bread wasn’t fresh.
Kid got a marg pizza and we had an rocula and prosciutto pizza. The rocket/arugula was more like spinach.. no peppery flavour and wasn’t super fresh. But the pizza was cooked nicely. Good crust, nice amount of sauce. Wife got Alfredo con pollo. Wasn’t seasoned but there was salt at the table. We finished our meals before anyone returned to the table. No quality check, no offer for another round of drinks until we were finished.. nothing. All whilst the staff stood around watching. We were the only table in this area and numerous staff members just watching us. Felt so weird. Still don’t understand the horrible rave music while we could see and hear the nice Italian music 15 feet away in the nice cozy area of the restaurant.
It was super hot and the AC unit wasn’t on… maybe broken? Not sure..
The food although not great, saved a very poor and...
Read moreExtremely disappointed!!!! Years ago use to be a very nice and cosy place, no change of the food, the service use to be a lot better, nobody checked me back so I have to call them as we needed more stuff on my table. My friend and I decided to back to La Famiglia, the only place I can eat my favourite “Perla negra” I was so excited!!! I felt lucky they have table able for us, they have been expanded and I was happy about it… till. I put on a side the tables and the Tablecloths they have… sorry but it looks so cheap and the salt and pepper and the little plastic flower stuff🫢. They use to be more classic. I order started and a Perla negra, and my friend a steak “Angus” med-rare. Starter and drinks were fine but then when the mains arrived we noticed the steak looked well done from outside, any way it’s not a cheap dish why not to cook it properly ??? It’s t was more medium than (medium/rare) I had to call the waiter to check the stake he took it back, then when he comes back he did ask if he wanted the SAME dish or something different, still gaves to him the option to choose the same, my friend really wanted his steak, so he went to the same dish so the waiter left.. after 15 min the waiter comes back and told us…. We have a problem, the steak it’s frozen would you like to wait to get defrost….. or you want something else …. (Sorry what????!) now we understand why the steak was like that with not taste!!!!! It was frozen and they cooked it so much in the middle was cold, so they gave us a stake overcooked and that it was not defrost properly!!!! I could finish my dish as I was waiting for my friend’s dish…. Pull me off and didn’t even enjoy my dish as it got cold waiting for my friend’s food. So many questions!!!!! Why you want to sale a stake that it’s frozen??? Why not to be honest and just say, we don’t have the steak??? Why waiting so long to let us know what was going on???? You mess up not juts with one meal!!!! It was both of our meals and you still charged both! I was so embarrassed I told such a good things to my friend about this restaurant!!! So so disappointed, didn’t charge the dish, they ruined my dinner and at the end we didn’t enjoy anything. I got 10% discount…. Sorry but you mess up with both of our meals !!! Shame we...
