Walking and searching for a whole other destination tonight. We are in the plaza and just happen to look over to our left and noticed this spot is reasonably crowded - positive sign, the food must be good, right. I mean it’s not on the 5th Avenue strip so visits here must garner desire or drop in.
We Google to save for later as we already have our eye on another place. When it looks like it’s about to pour down so we deviate from our plans. I’m not excited looking at the menu and decide I’ll stick with the taco - fish and shrimp. They offer chips and I request pico for a small charge. The food arrives before the pico (it’s fresh and trust me oh so good) and I try the fish taco. It was love at first bite. Prolly one of my top 2 gourmet tacos - the first being at La Zebra Hotel & Beach Club in Tulum. I paid more than 50 Pesos per taco, I know that. So this was a steal. It was seriously flavorful and not overly battered like other fish tacos. It was all love. The shrimp taco was pretty good too. The prices and service couldn’t be beat. My partner and I left satisfied w/our tacos.
I don’t know why getting your bill always takes an extra 5-10 minutes. Maybe they are hoping you’ll order more but that was my only pet peeve. The service otherwise as decent.
And I most definitely would return. I hope you find this review helpful. If so, give me...
Read moreFirst came here a few years ago on the recommendation of a local and have been back at least once every time we stay in Playa. We take all our travel companions here first night because we know they will want eat it again. The tuna ceviche is a must order each time. I'm generally not a huge seafood fan and rarely is it in my top 10 at a restaurant but I dream about it here. This visit the server recommend the octopus tostada and I ordered it despite finding octopus pretty unappealing. It was so good that I had to share with the rest of our octopus adverse group. The servers have always spoke better English than I do Spanish so communication hasn't been an issue. Do yourself a favor and enjoy a dinner here and a walk around the plaza...
Read moreAwesome service and the BEST aguachile tostadas I have ever had ever! They were so spicy, lemony and yummy that there was no time to take a picture. Please note: you have to pay for parking across the street on a machine and display the receipt on the driver's side of the windshield or else your car will get a boot and a ticket. I was lucky I was paying attention to the car when an officer took a picture of my plates. I almost got a ticket on my rental but I explained to the officer I was on vacation and it was my first time there so he cut me some slack after I paid the fee of ten pesos per hour. There are no signs of this information on the street nor was I advised of this by the restaurant staff...
