Service wasn't as bad as some others have experienced. Our food on the other hand was some of the worst we've had in playa. I ordered the flank steak which was hardly grilled and my wife ordered a fajita salad with chicken. We also ordered a Birria lamb soup as well. The steak was flavorless and practically mooing at me (i don't mind rare meat but this thing never met a flame). My wife's salad had about 80% wilted lettuce, the oil from the fajitas was so abundant that it coated the entire salad giving it the poor flavor of cheap pan oil. The chicken in the salad was cooked properly and did not taste bad. The Birria lamb soup had a poor cut of lamb that had a lot of chewy tendon in it and the general flavor of the soup was unappealing. On top of that my wife and i ordered the Tropical juice and the Riviera juice, the Riviera was bad and tasted like the fruit they used was gone by, the Tropical was "ok". We also ordered bottled water that cost 110 pesos per bottle. For everything mentioned plus guacamole (which was fine) we paid 1,200 pesos. That price is perfectly fine for a nice location and ok service, but for the food we got its an insult to the local chefs of playa del carmen.
Service is passable,...

I visited this restaurant and a couple minutes after they took my credit card away to pay the bill, I got a notification of a fraudulent charge for $271 for an rental company. We did not rent anything as we were leaving that day. Our male waiter took the credit card downstairs and about 10 minutes later, a different woman brought it back with the chip reader to complete the purchase for lunch.
Be extremely careful here. They do not need to take your card from the table, the card reader should be brought to your table.
I’ve reported the fraud which is now being investigated, cancelled my credit card and wish I could call the police on my waiter. He was the man in the upstairs seating and extremely rude and impersonal the whole time we were there. When I asked him where the nearest rental company was (after the fraudulent transaction), all of a sudden, he got extremely talkative and friendly. He told me not to go to any on the corner near the restaurant “because they were dangerous” and instead to go about 10 blocks down.
Food was fine but never leave your card unattended here. A least one of the...
Read moreWe walked past this place multiple times and were pretty intrigued on going since it had such a cool layout and vibe. We finally gave in to try and were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. The Mexican Breakfast and Huevos Motuleños were light and fantastic. Fresh squeezed juice always a plus and didn't taste to watered down. It's a little pricey compared to what's around but you can judge whether it's worth.
The reason I'm docking a star is the service and extra charges. We came relatively early for breakfast so it was pretty empty but it did take longer than expected to actually get served. We saw the reviews for this place and it seems pretty common so I imagine if it's busier, service could be pretty bad. Additionally they snuck in a couple of extra chargers I didn't initially see like charging us around $2 for creamer for the coffee. Never seen a place charger for creamer for coffee but sure. At this point we were on a breakfast high so we let it slide but I would be careful of any additional chargers and how much tip they demand. It keeps the 4 stars because the breakfast was genuinely really good +...
