I love Ogo De Agua, I go there weekly to eat and work. Up until this point I’ve never had any issues. I’ve worked their once without ordering food in the past. Well on this day I came two hours before they were closing and was just journaling, well the waiter stated I needed to order something I told her I didn’t want anything, but their was a slight language barrier so, so she wrote down the message she was trying to convey. In the message, posted below it stated that I needed to spend 300 pesos to stay. The waiter was my waiter the day before and the day before I only spent $65 pesos and I got a strawberry juice drink. I wanted to speak with manager to understand this new rule. I continued to work and So an hour later Victoria the manager spoke English and stated I needed to spend 300 pesos and stated “it was rude to stay at a restaurant and not buy anything” . I didn’t mind spending money but I wasn’t going to spend $300 pesos when most time I’ve attended this restaurant I’ve spent less than $300 pesos each time, while I was working. So I took a pic of the note and was leaving. Afterwards, Victoria, the manager, was trying to tell me what to say if I left a complaint online, (I wasn’t even going to leave a complaint,) but after she made that statement I decided to leave a complaint to prevent this from happening to anyone else. Also on the note that was written to me they stated the restaurant closed a 5:30pm, which is not true. According to google they close at 6pm and I’ve been there several times when they closed at 6pm, so i don’t understand why they lied about their closing time. Prior to this incident, i had no problems with this restaurant and their service was always good. Despite this interaction I would still recommend to try this...

The place is really cute, that’s why i decided to go in. But i didn’t really feel welcome. Few mistakes were done there and there in the service, nothing too bad, but i still didn’t feel welcome. I really didn’t know why because i hadn’t done anything wrong or shown attitude or anything.
Also the food was really not up to expectations.
I usually leave a 10-15% tip but this time I thought “I have really have to leave 5% it was not good”. The waiter said “ok”, and when inserting my card, I noticed she had left 10% tips. Had I not pay attention, she would have “forgotten”. I asked her why she put 10%, she answered “oh that’s because there is no 5% button”. How convenient. So that’s even worse because she knew about it and still knowingly went for it. I would have considered paying 10% if she had been honest and transparent about it.

Read moreThis is one of my favorite go-to for corn waffles they are the best. They make them with farm fresh eggs and lean tasty bacon. I add maple syrup to the waffles and have the savory eggs and bacon and love the combination of sweet and salty. Everything is super fresh and the juices are very good especially the ones with ginger and turmeric. A little walk north on 5th, one block off of fifth but definitely worth the walk if you're coming from the south.
They have creative light fixtures made out of empty mill bottles and crates. They have a lovely garden to relax and if you want to sit outside or beautifully air conditioning inside your choice. Everything is very clean inside and out. The service is inviting and the host is happy to chat with you about the restaurant upon request. It's warm and inviting.
Well definitely go back again for there fresh smoothies with healthy clever ingredients including energy and detox fruits and vegetables. Definitely a go-to...
