In short: terrible service, food isn't good.

I came here twice, the first time was at 8:30am just to get a coffee To go, and even though they were already open, I was told they don't have coffee right now because the coffee machine was still off. I left. I came here the next day for breakfast. The design of place it cute, it's much bigger than it looks. It was 9am and we were the only ones there. We ordered coffee- was decent. Then we ordered breakfast- chilaquiles, and another item called "casa vieja" which is a croissant with Jamon y Queso. It took about 45 minutes until we saw the waitress again with our food. The chilaquiles were dry, salty, tomatoe flavor too strong, and some shredded cheese that didn't even melt. Then my "casa vieja" came as a huge omelet stuffed with veggies and covered in cheesy sauce. Only then I realized they have 2 items on the menu with the same name. The waitress never bothered to check with me which one I wanted. Since it took so long to arrive, I wasn't gonna wait another hour, and so I just ate it, or tried to - it was extremely salty. The waitress never came back to check on us so I had to yell across the restaurant "disculpeeeee", to ask for the check. This took more than 10 minutes before we gave up and just went to the front to pay. The item I originally ordered was $120, the one I got was $160. After we paid I noticed they charged us $180 for it.

I will never return but they have a...

It’s possible this was a misunderstanding, but to me it obviously seems like the staff here likes to steal from “Gringos”. I ordered a coffee for $55 and gave the barista $205 pesos in cash. The barista only returned $50 to me and kept $100 because she assumed I didn’t know how to do basic math. I stood there expecting her to hand me more cash back and she acted as though the transaction was over. I eventually said “dos cientos” and she begrudgingly reached into the cash register and handed me my $100. She didn’t apologize or act like she didn’t mean to keep my $100, because she knew she had been caught. Hope this business doesn’t continue to so blatantly attempt to steal from...

"el arte del caffe"??? Coffee here is horrible. Tried the brewed coffee, it was awful because they use very cheap beans. Tried a cappuccino, I told her little milk, she put too much, didn't taste the coffee. Tried a pure espresso, it was awful and tasted like chemicals. No wonder she put too much milk in the cappuccino to hide the awful taste of the espresso. They need to use better beans and clean the machine. Also, watch some youtube videos to learn how to make coffee.

The food and service was good! But I came cod coffee because it said "el...

This was a great find my husband. We areived in Progreso for a beach day and wanted to start off with a breakfast of substance . The place is very clean, service is amazing. We can not forget the coffee , excellent . My only disappointment was they did not have a plant based option for milk , zo no cappuccino for me. Americano it was. Coffee on our visit was from Veracruz. The parquetes were our choice . You will not be disappointed. Please check it out if you are in the area.

Im not sure if the rumors are true, but I found that 70mxn for a cappuccino is really expensive in mexico. I lived in Mérida now for almost two months, where it is considered a little more expensive, and I never paid above 60mxn for a cappuccino. Usually, there are more around 40mxn. If you have the cappuccino, which is really good but ask for a double because if you don't, it's too weak. But with two shots, it was better. The place is clean and the staff was friendly.
