This was our best breakfast in the heart of Progreso and the coffee was superb! The owner was very proud to tell us about the coffee beans he brings in from Ecuador and this does not disappoint. They have English menus for tourists and we highly recommend the walk up, it’s about a 15min walk up from the beach. They are pretty busy for breakfast and it’s recommended to get there early ie 8am-8:30am for seating. Also, pretty good music playing and lunches look great as well. Coming from Europe especially being Bosnian good coffee is one of those must have things. During my stay in Merida and Porto Progreso I had realized it was very hard to find good and strong coffee. SMORGA’s Kaffet came up on my google search. I was so pleased with their coffee, my vegetarian omelette, home made bread and great company of the owner Eric and his lovely wife. Very friendly and kind people and full of good advise and tips.

He speaks Spanish, English, Polish, and Swedish, and he showed me his swedish cookbook. Come here for food that is made with intention and care and that won't be overly fried.
