While walking through town on my first day in Puerto Morales , I came across this beautiful little restaurant .. I was greeted by Dave who was the most welcoming person you could ever want to meet. I sat down for a drink and to ask a few questions , and wound up staying for a bite to eat meeting with some of the local regular people that frequent the restaurant... I ordered some food, and had the pleasure of meeting chef Carla the owner and the rest of her staff. Chef Carla is the most beautiful and welcoming soul you can ever meet . I enjoyed it so much there with the live music and the staff that I returned several times during my stay. And loved every minute of it . I was lucky enough to have traveled there in their holiday festival and Halloween where the whole town walks around and costume the children picking up candy from the local stores and restaurants just bands playing everywhere and it was the most wonderful experience. The day before I left I had the unique pleasure of meeting chef Carla as she was coming back from picking up fresh shrimp for her menu and a special she was going to make for the evening , she noticed me while I was picking up a few gifts and went out of her way to say hello give me a hug and wish me a safe trip home.. In closing I highly recommend anybody that goes to Pourto Morales to please take the time to stop in to this beautiful little restaurant , enjoy the music and have the experience of meeting the staff that Are just so warm and welcoming... I plan on returning in a few months and again stopping in and enjoying the pleasure of this location the food the music and most of all the wonderful staff and owner. Sincerely, Philip Farrelly New York...
Read moreI went last night with my daughter and a friend that likes to go there. Friendly staff but the drinks and food were despicable. Stick to straight shots or bottled beer. The waiter tasted my daughters mojito and said"They must have forgotten to put the alcohol in it!!!! My martini tasted as if it had been made by a novice. The fish tacos and cheese quesidillas took forever and they were not that busy! Tacos were too salty and quesidillas did not look good at all.We had better and cheaper tacos in La Colonia earlier in the day! My friend had a salad and was happy. My daughter left to find another restaurant and after they took the drinks off the bill (had the nerve to charge for the 2 bottles of water and half glass of wine) I paid and left all of the food! Server asked if everything was," OK"? Really! Hardly touched food and you are asking that ?! I feel they have the correct name-The PIRATE, bcause I sure felt that someone had stolen something from me like a Good Dining Experience!! Promptly left to go across the street to Tanino's where I found my daughter! They know how to make Mojitos and Martinis, serve excellent fresh food and it is worth waiting for plus they have great live music. El Pirata might do well to send their bartender there to take some lessons!! Too many other good restaurants in town and La Colonia to spend your pesos, eat good food ,and have...
Read moreTHIS IS the most detailed and precise description you will ever find about this restaurant , Ok, I will be 100% honest with you, so you can know all the details of this restaurant.
The food is good, I had an arrachera, I wont lie, is quite expensive but good. So if you want to spent money, and have a 7 of a 10 steak, or dinner, perfect for you.
BUT, the service was not great, I looked around and all the foreign people weren't receiving a good service, just the local people, that's what made choose not to go back, they were acting like, "here is some food, give me your money, bye." So I won´t recommend you to go to this place if you are looking for a good service, there is some restaurant around better.
There is a 100% italian restaurant that because it was a great service (trust me, is on the top 3 restaurants with the best service I´ve ever had in my life) next to it, the name is Mama Italia, cheap, good and amazing service, they just don't have a fancy restaurant and chairs. I went there 3 times in my...
