We actually discovered this restaurant completely by chance after walking about 45 minutes from our resort into Puerto Morelos — and what a great find it was! The restaurant has a lovely beachfront area where you can sit with your feet in the sand, enjoy the ocean view, and have a meal. The service was excellent both times we visited. I don’t remember his name, but one of the servers was Cuban and another was Colombian — both were very professional, super friendly, and attentive, always checking in to make sure everything was perfect. We ordered three dishes: the octopus taco with chicharrón, the tuna chicharrón, and the poblano fish in a creamy sauce. All three were absolutely delicious. The drinks were great as well, refreshing and well-prepared. The ambiance was exactly what you’d hope for in a beach town — relaxed, scenic, and welcoming. Prices seemed reasonable to us (we’re from Canada, so it may be a bit higher compared to other local spots, but for us it was well worth it). We loved it so much that we went back the very next day for more food and drinks. Definitely a spot we’d recommend if you’re in Puerto Morelos!

What a gem, walk inside through the little market and be amazed when you sit down (we recommend the little dock that has about 4 tables). The service was exceptional, so friendly and sincere, perhaps the best service we have seen in years (from all the various countries we have visitors). The food was also really good, cocktails on point and we ordered a Mexican wine bottle (Zinfandel/Cabernet, incognito) which was good as well (ask for a bucket of ice so the wine is on good temp). $$ for value was on point as well, with the wine it became a bit more pricy, but still this would have been $350 dinner in US for two people, we paid $200. Amazing fresh fish, and lots of other amazing dishes such a ceviche, soft shell crab taco’s, octopus dish and name sake fish of the restaurant as a main. We probably could have eaten this food with 4 people, so consider that within the price. Overall a lovely unique experience that will be hard to repeat thanks to Martha, Ivan and Samuel (host)!

Winner winner shrimp dinner! And the bartender is world-class. Dusting our margaritas with bougainvillea! These margaritas exceed what you’ll find in LA SF or SEA. What a presentation. And the flavor was so incredibly nuanced with each taste. Look at that photo. The love and passion are palpable. And all overlooking the beach. Just perfect. We started with table side prepared guacamole. The server, Ivan, gracious and professional, was a pleasure. Explaining everything, asking if we had allergies and preferences. And the entre! Whoa! Shrimp and tacos. Gorgeous presentation and fabulous flavor. I could easily return two nights in a row and have the shrimp again, the flavor was like caviar - better and better with each taste. Folks who love Mexican food are hard pressed to find a place they can rep with family and friends. Boquintette Seafood, friends, is THE place. The shrimp was divine.
