Busra does great food. No idea why anyone would give them a bad review. This is pretty authentic Syrian food. The flavors are well developed, and distinct and you can taste the passion of the people who prepared it. This is really good, homestyle food. The hummus was to die for and I make my own! The tabouleh is also delicous, it is more on the parsley side than bulgur ( I tend to make it heavy on the bulgur) but it was still fresh and clean and cleared the palate for the mains. We had the Shwarma and the Kebab on Rice which was delicious, the flavors of the two meats were distinct and the rice and sauce were all well balanced and blended together beautifully, This is serious comfort food! The grapeleaves were also full of flavor - which is often not the case at other restaurants. The taste of the homemade walnut baklava lingered in my mouth so long I didn't want to take a drink for fear of losing the eruption of honey, walnuts and rosewater. Alexandra is a lovely, warm host and you feel quite at home here. (Note to Alexandra, amazon.mx has Badia brand Sumac for $189 for 134g) I did not give 5 stars for atmosphere because Busra shares the courtyard with an Italian restaurant which plays Italian 1960's pop music, which personally I find fun but does take you out of Syria. :-) But my Dad ( who was a chef ) and I agreed, this was some of the best food we have had in Centro and our leisurely lunch was delightful thanks to the care that Busra puts into making your feel at home and that someone in the kitchen really cares about feeding you. This is our new go to place in Qro for comfort food- makes it easy as we just live...

I used to live in Dearborn Michigan which has the highest Middle Eastern population in the world outside of the Middle East so I am very well accustomed to Middle Eastern, Arabic, Lebanese Cuisine, and traditional Syrian Cuisine is quite similar
the rice I received for my dish was red Mexican rice with chicken shawarma, not much spice flavor and just a touch of lemon :0/
The shawarma roll I received was wrapped in a flour tortilla instead of Arab bread :0/
The baklava was more like a Chinese rollo primavera very dry hardly any butter but flavorful but not authentic :0p
I also received a side dish of chili jalapenos pretty sure this is not Syrian or Middle Eastern in any way, very Mexican :0/
The tambuli salad was good and authentic in ingredients...
Read moreWhat can I say other than it was one of the worst experience in Middle Eastern food. It was recommended by a friend and I was so embarrassed as I brought a friend from NY. We are from places that have great exposure to international food. I’m from Toronto and have eaten excellent Middle Eastern food many times. Tabouli salad was lacking bulgar wheat and tomatoes, overwhelmed with parleys and lime only. Kebab gyro was made up of loose ground meat all wrapped up. Baklava were cold, stale from the fridge, was not flaky. I...
