UPDATE 09/24 Prices have doubled on our favorite meal since my last review and the portion is less generous, hence I give it less stars on Food. It looks like the current owners are taking advantage of the fad many restaurants are following of charging more and giving less. Sadly, Hank's is no longer the value it once was. That said, the staff is superbly welcoming and the daily Happy Hour is worth going for. END OF UPDATE This week we once again had the Chicken Fricassee that is to die for especially for us garlic lovers. Very professional and consistently impressive, you are in good hands at Hank's. I adore their generous shrimp cocktails and the waitstaff is remarkable. Another 5 star time. Do be sure to get prices as you order so there are no unpleasant surprises.

They have stepped up their game. I'm still thinking about last week's special - the rib sandwich. Earned another star from me. Always a fun place to people watch right on Plaza Constitucion. Happy Hour daily 5-8 including Sunday. The management does not permit drink sharing during Happy Hour 2 for 1's - you order it, you drink it which has been the policy for years. If you don't mind this then it's a great place to go. Fries and onion rings are excellent. Currently, a good band plays 60's and 70' music Wed thru Sat starting at 8 pm. Service is always beyond excellent. Since they serve mainly New Orleans-style food, I'd love to see some fusion tacos on the menu using New Orleans-style beans and rice or even seafood. Starting with the strategic location of this place: right on one of the main squares downtown, which is very nice because the terrace section has a beautiful view and you can watch the people go by. We went with our dog, and they let us sit at a table right next to the railing, which was very comfortable and entertaining. However, I wouldn't say it's pet-friendly as such. We were unfortunately stupid enough to order their raw oysters on the half shell...on Christmas Eve. They were served on ice water, but some of the oysters were warm. Against our better judgement we ate almost all of them (some of them were very warm), and well...the people who ate oysters all had food poisoning the next morning. A horrible way to celebrate Christmas. If you don't have fresh oysters, do not put them on the menu!

The cocktails we ordered had cheap tasting alcohol.
