The view is great, let’s start with a positive. After that, it’s rough. 2+ hours for 2 orders of tacos. We ordered at the bar after not being approached by a waiter, totally fine, we expected slower service given the island vibes. 45 minutes later and seeing multiple people get their food delivered after we ordered we spoke up. They apologized and realized they forgot our order. We mentioned we’d been sitting there for over 1.5 hours at this point (drinks before food order) we asked for something quick to hold us over until our food got there, and asked for chips, they offered guacamole, we obliged.
From there we finally get our food after 4 more tables get theirs (really prioritized our order ha). We get the check and he pulls the check back realizing he FORGOT to charge us for the guacamole. Totally makes sense to charge us for something had we wanted it originally, however we only were given it because we had to wait over an hour for our tacos. Sad service experience ruined an amazing environment. Definitely focus on the drinks here, food...
Read moreWe recently took a girls trip to Isla Holbox for a few days, and we're lucky enough to stay at Casa Cereza which is just a few steps away from Cafe del Mar!! This place is incredible, I dare say they have one of the best locations in Holbox! The stretch of beach in front of the restaurant is pristine and oh so quiet and relaxing. You can rent beach loungers for the day and order ceviche and cocktails to your heart's desire (we also highly recommend the guacamole and habanero salsa)!! The staff is so lovely and were super patient about our "work in progress spanish" speaking, we had wonderful service during every visit from everyone on staff. Aldaer was extremely friendly and gave us amazing personalized recommendations in town and for beach clubs for the time they are closed. I loved this place and I'm already daydreaming about the day we can return, Thank you Cafe Del Mar and staff for making our trip to Isla Holbox so enjoyable...
Read moreI really liked it:) good fresh food and awesome atmosphere. I had the shrimps with garlic and guacamole. The guacamole was the best I had on this island so far and I definitely recommend to order it. The shrimps were good and fresh but not very special. It's okay for the price as you are directly on the beach. To drink I had the agua Jamaica and a horchata. Both very delicious and I liked that it was less sugar in the agua de Jamaica. When you get the bill they did not include the tip directly. The costs are listed at "total". What is down below is a recommendation for tips. You still can decide how much you want to give, but I would not recommend to give less as 10% as the service is really great and...
