This place gets busy but we only had to wait 5 minutes to accomodate our large group. There are plenty of fans going and they turn them down if they blew too hard. Service wasnt quick but we didnt wait overly long. There are lots of bright lights which doesnt make for a cosy atmosphere and its noisy with fans and general restaurant noise. Food was good. Octopus with tomatoes and garlic was really tasty as was the flank steak which was tender. Hamburger was moist with cheese and bacon and fries were also good. Portion sizes were plenty big enough. We also had nachos and guacamole which was thick and creamy. Fried shrimp was perhaps a little over done. All in all it was worth going and is moderately rather than cheaply priced. Allow $100 - $200 mxn per main dish.

Great seafood in Tulum!! I am right now at el Camello Jr and we are eating the best nachos in my life. These are the Nacho Shrimp and as soon as the plate arrive to our table we started enjoying them. The plate (I am attaching a picture is really big and the taste is even better. Although they received you with free nacho tortilla and beans, we de used to taste this and these are really good. They are tortilla, black beans shrimp and Manchego cheese only, but taste really good. The plate is ver cheap as it cost 160 pesos ( less than USD 10)!! The fish filet with garlic and the diabla octopus are really good!! Do not expect a fancy place but the service, the Prices and the food are excellent.

Beyond disappointing!!! We have been eating here for almost 15 years , every year a few times. Unfortunately the quality of the food degraded slowly, particularly over the last 3-4 years, to the point where in January the food was mediocre at the best, and today we managed to have the worst ceviche EVER - the seafood chewy and an ungodly amount of lime juice, making it inedible. The fish tacos were mediocre at the best, with the tortillas falling apart, and no flavour. What’s wrong with this place , it used to be the destination for authentic Mexican seafood on the Mayan Riviera. Now I dread someone experiencing seafood here the first time. Get your act together El Camello Jr.

Everything was great! Totally hit the spot. Felt very authentic. It was super packed, but we got seated within 5 minutes of putting our name on the wait list. Drinks were delicious! Food was amazing! We got guacamole (very fresh but plain compared to rest of food), mixed seafood ceviche (super good and fresh! We got one small plate for 3 people and still had leftover), fried fish fillet (whole fish accompied w rice, frijoles, and veggies), and surf n turf skewers (the beef on it was out of this world!). The give you fresh tortilla chips with salsa, frijoles, and a pepper/lime juice mix that was extremely hot but yummmyyy! We used that mix to add flavor to the guac.

came back here again after 8yrs. It’s few things same as before in Tulum. the complement tortilla chips and beans were sooo goood. OMG the beans, so good. It’s huge too. Can’t believe they gave us that many for two people. We tried octopus ceviche, cocktail shrimp and fish dish and all of they were very good. Not only the taste is good, but price is very good too. It’s interesting because back to 8yrs ago, I felt it was expensive (I was a long term traveler back then), but now it’s one of most affordable mexican food place in Tulum. Tulum has changed so much, but not here. It’s sometimes very busy and you may expect lines. However their service is quite fast.

If you're looking for the freshest ceviche in Tulum, this is the place to be! I have never had ceviche this good and the serving for a small order was good for 3-4 people. The price is very, very affordable as well. We also ordered fish and shrimp tacos which both were equally as good. The sauces on the table is a must with your tacos. Also have to mention how good their bean dip is which was complimentary when they serve you the tortilla chips. Service and ambiance is what you would expect from a local restaurant - warm and accommodating to your needs.
