Tulum, a tropical paradise with a vibrant culinary scene, has charmed us with its authentic Mexican flavors. Amidst the bustling streets and lively atmosphere, we stumbled upon a hidden gem - a ceviche restaurant that left a mark on our taste buds and hearts. This unassuming eatery was an extraordinary culinary journey we couldn't resist revisiting twice in just a few days. When we stepped inside, we knew we made the right decision for our anticipated gastronomic experience. The highlight was the ceviche - a dazzling array of fresh and succulent seafood impeccably prepared and seasoned to perfection. With each bite, we savored the explosion of flavors - the tangy citrus, the subtle heat of chilies, and the medley of fresh herbs that elevated the dishes to culinary masterpieces. From traditional shrimp ceviche to fish and octopus variations, each offering had its own distinct charm, celebrating the natural beauty of the local seafood. The menu extended beyond ceviche, offering a delightful selection of other Mexican delicacies. We couldn't resist trying the tacos de pescado, where the tender fish was encased in soft, handmade tortillas and accompanied by zesty salsa. The guacamole was ripe with authentic spices, was simply divine, and left us craving more. The service at this ceviche haven was nothing short of exceptional. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They patiently explained the different ceviche options, suggesting the best pairings. Eating at this Mexican ceviche restaurant in Tulum was a joyous affair that we could not resist repeating. Our culinary escapades were elevated by the infectious enthusiasm of the staff and the tantalizing flavors that reflected the heart of Mexican coastal cuisine. Read moreThis was the best food I had in Tulum, and possibly during my entire trip to Mexico. So good in fact, that we had to go two nights in a row. Some things to note: HUGE PORTIONS, DELICIOUS FOOD, GREAT PRICES! On the first night, we walked in at around 8:30pm, and it was pretty empty aside from a few tables. Within a few minutes of sitting down, they gave us a plate of tortilla chips, beans, and pico de gallo. So good! We ordered a mojito and a piña colada. The drinks came really quickly and they were delicious! We then ordered arrachera nachos, guacamole, and the small plate of ceviche. We ate everything and felt like we were going to explode. No regrets though. The steak and the ceviche were sooo soft. Best ceviche I’ve ever had by far. You know the food is good when you completely ignore your drinks! We finished off the meal with flan, even though we were already full, which was also very good. On the second night, we came in at around 9pm. They totally remembered us and welcomed us in with smiles. We ordered mojitos and the arrachera nachos again (we learned our lesson and ordered less food) and it hit the spot. 11/10 recommend this place— I really hope I make it...
Read moreThis is a great local place with good, inexpensive food and very friendly and hospitable staff.
I had a great lunch here on my first day in Tulum a few weeks ago. I had mixed ceviche, chips and guacamole, pico de gallo and a couple drinks (a pina colada and sangria, if I remember correctly). I loved the pico de gallo and mixed ceviche, both were really flavourful. Be careful when ordering though, the portions are quite large! We got a medium sized ceviche and it was an entire platter. If you do order the larger dishes, just make sure you're hungry enough! ;)
Stick around long enough and you might even see a performance by some of the musicians passing by.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Tulum!
