Read moreThis was my first time trying this restaurant. Having lived in Thailand for a while, I have a good sense of the style of Thai food I enjoy. I’ll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu.
For my initial visit, I ordered the samosas and the cashew chicken. The samosas were good—the exterior was pleasantly thin and crispy. However, the filling could have been thicker and less watery. As for the cashew chicken, I chose it based on their photos, expecting a rich, dark sauce with a sweeter profile, which is my preference. Unfortunately, their version featured a thinner, more sour sauce, and the chicken tasted reheated, which diminished the overall experience.
On my next visit, I tried the Massaman curry—OMG, it was incredible! Rich, flavorful, and absolutely perfect, with a generous portion size. I returned again for the red curry, which was also excellent, though I still preferred the Massaman.
However, on a subsequent visit, I ordered the Massaman curry again, and it wasn’t as good as the first time. The consistency was thinner, the flavor less rich, and it only included one piece of potato. It was also loaded with another ingredient I didn’t enjoy. When I asked, they said it was shallots, but it didn’t taste like shallots—it had a meaty, almost chicken-like taste that I...
Read moreOhh, where do I start? I guess I can write a book on how we ended up at SukhoThai but that's for another time. After our first visit on a rainy night, we came back here a couple of times for both lunch and dinner. We got to witness great service during all of our visits. The food is just wow, full of flavors and perhaps one of the best Thai places in the Tulum area. We had kids plus folks with dietary restrictions in our group, and they were super flexible with their menu options, and everybody loved the food and service. This is an authentic Thai spot, and provides a great experience if you're looking to indulge in Thai food. I like my food spicy, and they make the chili sauce fresh on the spot, it was super nice to see such an unassuming place with the great food and service.
During our second visit, we got a chance to speak with the owner, super nice and down to earth personality. Loved getting to know him and his family plus their history with family in Bangkok and Paris. He went out of his way to serve us fresh fruits at the end of our meal, we loved talking to him.
If craving Thai food in the Tulum area, this...
