Sukhothai in Tulum, Mexico is a hidden gem that everyone needs to experience. From the moment you step through the door, you are welcomed with open arms by owner Dominic and his family. The warm hospitality that they provide is unmatched, and it’s clear that they truly care about their guests.

Dominic’s customer service is exceptional, and he goes above and beyond to make sure that every guest has a memorable experience. He takes the time to chat with each and every customer, asking how their day has been and making sure that they are comfortable. His genuine kindness and passion for his restaurant shine through in every interaction, and it’s evident that he takes great pride in his work.

The ambiance of Sukhothai is truly stunning, with beautiful lighting, elegant decor, and live music that sets the perfect mood for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends. The live music is always a highlight of the evening, with talented musicians playing a variety of traditional instruments, It adds a special touch to the already fantastic dining experience

One of the standout features of Sukhothai is the owner’s dad, Stefan. His hospitality is simply amazing, and he makes every guest feel like they are part of the family. He takes the time to chat with everyone, asking about their lives and sharing stories from his own. His warm and friendly nature is contagious, and it’s impossible not to feel welcomed and at home in his presence.

The food at Sukhothai is, of course, the star of the show. Every dish is beautifully presented, with an emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The flavors are bold and exciting, with a variety of dishes to choose with traditional Thai cuisine to fusion dishes with a Mexican twist. Whether you’re in the mood for a light and fresh salad or a hearty and comforting bowl of noodles, Sukhothai has something for everyone.

In conclusion, Sukhothai in Tulum is a must-visit restaurant for anyone looking for a truly memorable dining experience. The combination of exceptional food, stunning ambiance, and exceptional customer service make it an unforgettable place. The hospitality provided by Dominic, Stefan, and the entire Sukhothai team is second to none, and it’s impossible not to feel like part of the family. If you’re looking for a unique and unforgettable dining experience, Sukhothai is the...

This was my first time trying this restaurant. Having lived in Thailand for a while, I have a good sense of the style of Thai food I enjoy. I’ll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu.

For my initial visit, I ordered the samosas and the cashew chicken. The samosas were good—the exterior was pleasantly thin and crispy. However, the filling could have been thicker and less watery. As for the cashew chicken, I chose it based on their photos, expecting a rich, dark sauce with a sweeter profile, which is my preference. Unfortunately, their version featured a thinner, more sour sauce, and the chicken tasted reheated, which diminished the overall experience.

On my next visit, I tried the Massaman curry—OMG, it was incredible! Rich, flavorful, and absolutely perfect, with a generous portion size. I returned again for the red curry, which was also excellent, though I still preferred the Massaman.

However, on a subsequent visit, I ordered the Massaman curry again, and it wasn’t as good as the first time. The consistency was thinner, the flavor less rich, and it only included one piece of potato. It was also loaded with another ingredient I didn’t enjoy. When I asked, they said it was shallots, but it didn’t taste like shallots—it had a meaty, almost chicken-like taste that I...

Ohh, where do I start? I guess I can write a book on how we ended up at SukhoThai but that's for another time. After our first visit on a rainy night, we came back here a couple of times for both lunch and dinner. We got to witness great service during all of our visits. The food is just wow, full of flavors and perhaps one of the best Thai places in the Tulum area. We had kids plus folks with dietary restrictions in our group, and they were super flexible with their menu options, and everybody loved the food and service. This is an authentic Thai spot, and provides a great experience if you're looking to indulge in Thai food. I like my food spicy, and they make the chili sauce fresh on the spot, it was super nice to see such an unassuming place with the great food and service.

During our second visit, we got a chance to speak with the owner, super nice and down to earth personality. Loved getting to know him and his family plus their history with family in Bangkok and Paris. He went out of his way to serve us fresh fruits at the end of our meal, we loved talking to him.

If craving Thai food in the Tulum area, this...

Stepping into Sukhothai Tulum is like being transported straight to the bustling streets of Bangkok, yet with the serene backdrop of Tulum’s tropical charm. My sister and I, having enjoyed the tastes of Thailand firsthand, were delighted to find such authentic food! The ambiance of the place is a lovely blend of nature and nurture, with greenery that seemed to dance around us, creating a dining haven under the canopy of Tulum’s beauty. Service here is nothing short of exceptional. Every staff member treated us with the utmost attention, but it was Stephane, the owner, who left the most memorable impression. His attentiveness to each table was evident as he moved with a grace that only genuine passion can fuel. He was a warm, hospitable presence, multilingual and engaging, ensuring everyone’s experience was nothing less than perfect. Sukhothai Tulum isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a place that offers a feast for the senses and nurtures the soul. A must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in culinary excellence while basking in the warmth of exceptional hospitality. Enjoy!
