Lobby Bar — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

The singer at the lobby bar (he was upstairs from the bar) was very entertaining and his soft, gentle melodies, even when covering English songs rather than singing Spanish ones, was relaxing and soothing. It was an enjoyable background music to our conversations over a couple of drinks. They also had traditional Mayan entertainers come out dressed in traditional clothing who would dance, act and converse.

Our bartender Angel was fantastic and came to know our preferred drink order. He would start making it as soon as he saw us coming to sit at the lobby bar! The waitress Magdalena was also fantastic. She taught us about Mexico and Mexican traditions and took the time to talk to us as foreign travelers visiting her country. We learned from her and did not feel as though we were an inconvenience or merely another customer. Like Angel, she soon learned our drink preferences and would bring us a round if we got low. She was even diligent enough to ask each time if we thought we might want another round after the one she had brought! Despite wearing a mask, the gentle smile in her eyes was welcoming...
