Great little spot, specifically on Salsa Night!!
We were gobsmacked at how full this place gets on a Tuesday night. It's wild! If you want a seat/to eat, you need to arrive early. 7pm at the latest!!
If you're dancing, though, your table will get snatched up by others. You kind of need to either dance or sit... they would do well to expand the seating space because a lot of the night people spend roaming around, searching for a seat. It gets chaotic out there!
Salsa class runs 7 - 8 and is 50 pesos pp. You spend the night dancing with half the class, which is so much fun & better than sticking with your partner. Such a great way to improve everyone's dancing as some dance better than you and you dance better than some...
The dance floor gets packed, and the whole venue is an absolute vibe. Makes you want to improve your salsa so much!
If dancing is not your thing, you can sit back and people watch. It's a great time.
It's 50 pesos for entry & that includes 1 drink (beer/water/soft drink).
The food vendors aren't the best, from what we experienced, but it doesn't really matter. We still had a great time each week.
There's also markets with jewellery, etc, set up at the entrance.
10/10 recommend you get down here if you're in Tulum on a...
Read moreI recently went to Tulum, Mexico's famous local spot Palma Central, and had a great time! Anyone searching for a quick snack or a sit-down dinner will enjoy the vast variety of cuisines offered by the food trucks in this special food truck park.
Tuesday night's salsa night is one of Palma Central's most notable events. At this point, the park becomes a bustling place with live music, dancing, and delectable food and beverages. People have traveled from all over to enjoy the exciting atmosphere and dance the night away. The atmosphere was incredibly joyful and upbeat, and the live music was excellent.
The food trucks themselves, in addition to Salsa Night on Tuesdays are all excellent. There is something for every palate among the very astounding selection of choices. The cuisine was of excellent quality, and the portions were substantial.
Palma Central is a must-go to if you're searching for a distinctive and enjoyable eating experience in Tulum. It is a wonderful experience because of the tasty food, live music, and energetic ambiance. I...
Read morePalma central is a great open area with multiple food trucks to choose from. Amongst them are a burger place, a Mexican truck, a Japanese truck with local flavors, a wing trailer, a very cute little arepas joint, a full alcohol bar, a coffee van, and very clean nice bathrooms. All next to a large park for kids to play while parents drink. Perfect for all sizes of groups/age mixes.
My wife and I chose to try an arepas from la jojotera, which turned out to be a great choice. The arepas were nice and crispy and they have multiple flavors and filling to choose from. We also had some very fresh jamaica (hibiscus) tea. We were going to try more places but the mosquitos started getting after us, bring bug spray!
This place doesn’t close, so not only is it great for families but I imagine it gets a fun late night scene as well.
Check palma central out while you are in tulum. It is worth some time...
