I don't want this to reflect on the staff in anyway. They were wonderful and the food is very good, but I would not call it Brazilian at all. I've been to Brazil. Twice. My ex boyfriend is Brazilian. So I know Brazilian as well as an American can. Feijoada is not a soup and this one is very thin. There's no pao de quejo. There's no Guarana. There's no farofa. Im not even sure if theres cachaca for caipirinhas. The food TASTES good but it shouldn't be called Brazilian. At all.
Edit: well they took one of the forks and I asked for another. They said okay and never came back. I'm eating w my hands as we now have one fork for the 2 of us. The meat is over cooked. My boyfriend had to cut my meat for me because it was so tough it was physically hurting my wrist. I haven't had a refill of water in quite some time. Which I need in order to consume the dry meat. Not impressed. We came from the Maya riviera and low key regretting eating outside of that resort. It pales...
Read moreThis was our 3rd visit over 14 years to this restaurant, and it is no longer a desirable place to eat. Service-wise, it took over 15 minutes for them to get a child seat to our table. Empty water glasses would remain empty for 20 minutes or longer. Staff in general just did not seem friendly. Food-wise, the "rodizio menu option" includes a person coming by the table to provide 1 of each of the 7 meat offerings (once per meat), over a 1+ hour span. Most rodizios will have a constant rotation of these meats -- which allows a person to decide what they want to eat and how much and how often -- but not here. Many of the meat selections were quite dry, over-cooked, and aside from the chicken, none had ANY flavor. The picanha which is usually one of the most flavourful selections at a rodizio, had zero flavor. None of my family were impressed with this restaurant and I do not recommend...
Read moreWe are vacationing for the first time at Barcelo Maya Palace. We had dinner tonight at Rodizio and it was great! Our serving staff, Benjamin Jimenez, Araceli Castro, and Alejandro Chilaco were AMAZING! They all went above and beyond to make our visit perfect. First, we got our reservation time mixed up but they were so understanding and sat us anyway. They went over the menu in detail, giving us their recommendations. Our son wasn’t feeling well, and ended up returning to our room. Our servers went out of their way to create a plate “to-go” for us to take back to him to eat later. We appreciated this so much. It was so thoughtful! We had the Filet, Spinach Lasagna, and Ribeye. All delicious and perfectly cooked. Thank you Benjamin, Araceli, and Alejandro for making our dinner experience one we...
