So fabulous - highly recommend this as one of your meals. We always try to get a table on the patio allowing us to enjoy the evening ocean waves too. Server on this visit (December 8) was Jesus Gonzalez. Top notch service from beginning to end, also to the staff who greeted 4 of us and made a patio seating possible. Attentive service including all the little extras were accommodated or even offered. I have a swallowing issue due to cancer recovery, so some accommodating was somewhat needed and offered. Amazing “salad” bar and dinner rolls were available, followed by shrimp appetizers and scallops by another. The artichoke soup was wonderful just like the catfish and seafood soups. Delicious Lobster mains and others had coconut shrimp. Desserts including hot fondant, red velvet cake and lemon tart finished the meal wonderfully. I had to pass but Jesus offered to bring crème brûlée to accommodate my issue and it was superb. It was a great way to end our 12th visit and my sisters 23rd. Well done Barcelo! It’s these extras that keeps us loyal to...
Read moreWhen it comes to dining options at the Barcelo Maya, this restaurant easily stands out as one of the best. Karen, the manager, sets the tone with her friendly demeanor and exceptional leadership, which is clearly reflected in the amazing staff. Each team member goes above and beyond to ensure guests feel welcomed and taken care of. Furthermore, the food served at this restaurant consistently delights patrons with its delicious flavors and presentation. Every dish I had the opportunity to taste was a testament to the culinary expertise and attention to detail of the talented kitchen staff. I would also like to express my gratitude to Alejandro, Joel, Cesar and Stephany for their excellent service, which truly enhanced my dining experience.
If you're visiting Barceló, I highly recommend making a reservation at this restaurant. The warm hospitality, delectable cuisine, and overall dining experience make it a must-go...
Read moreWe were fortunate to eat at 5 a la carte restaurants during our stay at the Barceló Maya. This one was among the better meals / experiences that we had.
The only thing I didn’t love (and this is probably not fair) is that it felt like a lot of seafood. Seafood appetizer, seafood soup, seafood main. Maybe a little more diversity would have been good - but of course this is a seafood restaurant.
The scallop appetizer was delicious, definitely the standout appetizer to me.
The service here was really great as well. Very friendly, and this was the only restaurant where the manager came to check on us and other patrons as they ate to ensure everything was meeting everyone’s standards. That really stood out to me, and showed that while these are all Barceló restaurants they are somewhat independent in that each restaurant had the autonomy to create the experience that they wanted...
