Our group ordered two coffees, a poundcake, a smoothie, and two oatmeal cookies. We gave the server a tip and sat down on very uncomfortable chairs.
Everything arrived as expected, except the smoothie. When I asked about the smoothie the server scowled at me and said something which seemed to mean “its on its way, jerk”. Someone then turned on the blender to start the smoothie.
Our dog was sitting quietly at our feet but she had been walking in the hot sand and the hot pavement just like we had so we wanted to give her some water. When my husband asked for some water to put in one of our dirty saucers for her, the server rebuked him and said “it’s not sanitary” — in a tone and in a manner that added “you imbecile”. She added that there was a bucket out on the street for the dog.
I took the dog out to get water for it, but there was no bucket there. I went back in to let her know there was no bucket and the server scowled at me again insisting there was a bucket out there. At this point I I had had enough rude service and I wanted my tip back so I reached for it and she hit my hand. At that point, I left.
The owner followed me out, accused me of stealing tips, said she was going to publish my photograph, and called me rude!
This interaction stunned me. It was our first visit to San Pancho and I was really enjoying it. I have been visiting various cities in Mexico since 1957 and the Mexican people I have met, from Nogales, Mazatlan, Zihuatenejo, Valladolid, Durango—even Mexico City have always been civil-and often went out of their way to be helpful.
I really don’t care how good their coffee is— we will never be back and we will never recommend this business. SOME PEOPLE DO NOT BELONG IN THE...

Every year for the past 7 years, during our two-week vacation in San Pancho, this is our go-to spot for coffee and pastries. The coffee is great, and the pastries are delicious and baked fresh daily. Our kids especially love the lemon bread, and it’s become a fun little tradition for our family to stop by here at least once a day. They also are one of the few spots that serve decaf coffee in town!
Beyond the great food and coffee, what makes this place truly special is Priscilla and her wonderful team. They are always so kind and welcoming to our family, creating such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
If you are new to San Pancho - or just visiting for the day - we highly recommend...
Read moreA mediocre coffee shop with a good location. The Internet is fast but they lie about not having a working bathroom. I regularly see the staff use the bathroom that is "fuera de servicio". The coffee is acceptable but the regular Mexican apathy really drags this place down. They haven't had ice cream in months but the sign is still up. They don't have 1/3 of the items on the menu. The staff is rather rude and disinterested in giving...
