El Grandpa & Son Burgers — Restaurant in San Miguel de Allende

What a charming restaurant!! We loved dining in the patio. We had Prosecco Sangria, a piña colada and a St Germane Spritz. All of the drinks were balanced, delicious and refreshing. The Smashburgers are two thin patties that are caramelizada on the outside and juicy in the middle. They’re served with lettuce, tomato , and the crispiest bacon ever. They’re served were delicious!! At these prices, I expected better. Our party tried several different items. Burgers are high quality and tasty. There's a veg option with the portobello. Fries come from frozen. We also tried a few of the mini "pico" burgers which again were quite tasty but they were the size of a 10 peso coin. Seriously. Can't speak for the drinks because we just had the limonada which seemed to be made from syrup. The servers seemed indifferent. I just can't believe prices, however. $205 for a chilli dog with fries...

We love the food at Grandpa and Sons. The patty melt is oozing cheese and sauce. I like the mini sliders with a small Caesar salad. French fries are crisp not greasy. We’ve always been treated well here, but today not so much. Our server was friendly to everyone but us. My husband, who doesn’t pick up on things like that, noticed also. We could not figure out why.
